South Park: The Stick of Truth

Ok played some more. Constant combat does get boring. Especially when it comes in the way of my exploring! I love all the songs that play when you enter different places.

Yeah the combat gets old real quick. It's shit considering it basically copies the likes of Paper Mario, then misses out all the simple stuff that made that fun, or at least manages to have no effort put into it.

Shame because the rest is well done. This should probably be sold as a budget title considering.

It is very funny though

Think I might hold out till it's either released on ps4 or is available for £20. Infamous is on the way soon and I already have a pretty large backlog of games to play

Not too sure about that. There's still loads of content packed in when you consider the places to explore, collectibles, friends, side quests, perks, abilities, equipment etc. And all with barely any load times. Just getting all the friends will keep me busy for a while since it's always a joy interacting with characters.

A shame combat sucks.

Me too. It does look brilliant but don't think it would be worth the full price right now.

Yeah, but there's not a whole lot of actual 'game'. It's more a very well done tour for fans I think.

Steep for what it is, but it is definitely a good laugh! I'd say around 20-25 is what it should go for new to be honest, but I'm sure you'll enjoy the South Park aspect. It really is excellent for that ;)
Yep, it is expensive for only 14 hours RPG. The only RPG who was that short I have ever played is Jade Empire (which was a great game to be fair).

Hopefully it will get cheaper until I finish The Witcher but going by comments here, it looks that I need to do something in order to play it as soon as possible. Playing two games at the same time, ever tried it?

I play loads at the same time!

But Jade Empire was a great game. This really isn't, but it's great for fans of the show. The 'game' part is pretty rubbish of I'm honest, and it feels pretty 'cheap' not withstanding the obvious style restrictions.

I do recommend it highly though if you even like South Park, if you love that then you are going to love what's in this. I'm finding it hilarious! It's just a shame they didn't bother putting in much game, it's like that was an afterthought :(

Ok, I am getting it. I am not the biggest fan of SouthPark ever, but I have watched several seasons and I have had some of the biggest laugh in my life watching it.

Charming game. Looks great and animations are smooth. Just like watching a TV show.

Seems a bit easy, though, I only played tutorial bit, until those fecking drow elves stole the Stick of Truth. Kept the name Douchebag, as that way, characters will at least say it.

Class, Jew of course. Sling of David is unstoppable.

Well I guess you and I can never be friends!

Gonna have to get this, just wish it was on current gen systems, they better not do what they did with Rayman and decide to release it 6 months later
Wouldn't make any difference, it has cartoon graphics anyway and PS3/360 are easily capable of holding up to that with ease plus they have bigger install bases and cheaper games.

Yea I know, it's just I'd rather have my games all on the same console, as soon as the ps4 can play films off of USB sticks I plan on retiring my ps3. My 360 is practically already retired, haven't turned it on in months

To be fair I have used my PS3 nearly as much as a PS4 since I got it. Still plenty of games for me to complete on that and the fact that many of them have been included in PS+ helps too. I am finishing Thief now and will move on to Dishonored which is probably a better game afterwards.

It's apparently only mildly censored, a couple of cut scenes and a minigame. Nothing major.

Plenty of awesome of references. Fans of the show would definitely love it. Was just walking around for the past hour or so checking the town out. Not a fan of RPG but played it just because it's South Park. Don't forget to play the radio in Cartman's room.

There's loads of stuff that's brilliant about this, but the spell (fart) combat training is fecking annoying. Took me ages... plus then there is the issue that Butters is shite! Laughing out loud at so many bits of this though...

This is great.

Cartman's Mom's room

I spent ages earlier just listening to Cartman's radio. I let out a rather audiable "YES!" When Kyle's mum is a bitch came on

Oh and chef's songs on the radios in the background at various parts of the game, brilliant! It's just a damn shame it's like a kid's game to play :(

Ah I don't mind, gameplay for me was always secondary to the fact that I'm basically playing a season of South Park, although it does seem easy, even hardcore is piss.

Started it last night, though only really played about 15 minutes. It has been amusing so far, will hopefully be able to get into it more tonight

It generally is very easy, then out of nowhere comes this one fight that took me ages to get past.

I have it on Hardcore and it's still not difficult, and simple, but it's just so much fun actually playing South Park. I love it.

So whats the deal with this then? I've gone on steam to give it a purchase but apparently the release date has changed to 'March 2014' as opposed to a specific date. How are all you brits playing this?

Pre ordered and can't wait for tomorrow! Iv got a busy weekend with this and the Wildstar beta.

I like it so far, but there are some bugs they need to iron out in combat.

I definitely like it, it's good fun, though I couldn't imagine it on anything but hardcore difficulty cause ever this isn't much of a challenge really. Still, it's the experience more than anything.

Oh and (around 3 hours in)
Al Gore's quest is great fun
