Son Heung-min | Spurs

And McTominay's finger made contact with Sons face.

The point is that players are screaming and rolling around to the point contact isn't allowed anymore. It's even convinced some fans that all contacts are fouls.

We've all played football. With the adrenaline it would take some serious pain to illicit the response you saw today from Son.

To be fair the problem obviously isn't just Son and Spurs. It happens every game. It happened multiple times this game.

Rashford, Bruno, Aurier and Hojbjerg were at it as well.

Why do people keep saying this? Its such a blatantly false equivalence. The guy lay prone faking a head injury to the point of Doctor and physio on and stayed on the ground an extended time. It was pathetic embarrassing scummy behaviour and totally different to an exaggerated fall or scream

They're staying down because they know its under review though, so it's not a normal situation. Lack of crowd noise really shows how much some scream, and yes, we have plenty.

We've established that every team has players that exaggerate and scream. But im struggling to remember anybody who has done what son did today. I genuinely can't think of any of our players or many others who received medical attention after such a minor touch. You're making a false comparison

Are you kidding? He was kicked clearly in the replay.

And Son was clearly hit in the face as well. The point is that the contact wasn't beat enough for him to go down like that, same with Bruno against Villa and numerous more times in the season.

Refs need to weed this type of behavior out by not falling for these dives by players.

Incredibly odd post match interview

Anyone remember how many times Carlos Alberto dived in the game Mou beat on the way to the CL with Porto? This is the guilt and shame you feel when that's what your game has become when you could do so much more - counter attacking, diving and shithousery does not sit well with Son

His post match interview had the tone of a player who just got their side relegated or knocked out of a world cup.

Get a grip, they lost to a side above them in the league.

Just seen he was racially abused. Fecking out of hand this shite.

it has got out of hand. Anyone who is doing it should be banned from the social media. They know who they are.

Has been racially abused on social media after the match. This is following a similar incident with Sanchez recently. Absolutely disgusting.
That's really pathetic. I don't know how so many neanderthals are still alive in the 21st century. Absolutely disgusting. Also, people asking celebrities to stay off twitter in order to not get abused are not realizing that it is the same argument as "ask your girls to not wear revealing clothes if they don't want to be molested".

I feel for him especially since what has been happening in the US against south-asians (me being one).

Back to the topic: He is a diving and cheating cnut. He would have been absolutely gutted if a goal was taken away from him in the same manner. He was nowhere near the player, tried to pull his shirt and missed and then squirmed on the floor like a cockroach. I do hope that the same injustice happens to him soon. Idiot.

I think he might feel guilty and it doesn't sit well with him.

He cheated in a football match, something that happens every week. Players fake injury constantly, whether its to get someone booked, waste time or just to have a bit of a breather.

His cheating didn't even really have much of an impact in the end either. It's not Thierry Henry v Ireland or Suarez v Ghana level of outcome, Spurs still lost.

The only "abuse" he should get is Man United fans Tweeting him the match report or the league table.

Still amazed that they got his eye back in and his vision restored so quickly for him to score. Exceptional on field treatment.

Other than that his post match interview was weird. Almost seemed like a player that's fed up but also knows he's going nowhere any time soon.

the biggest issue for me was he didn’t go down then get up asap, he just laid there on the floor like he’d just had his head taken off by a bus, it was embarrassing.

You just knew they did it out of desperation to try and get the goal cancelled and he fell for it. madness.

Can’t believe no ones concerned about how Scott’s hand is after being head butted by Son like that. Mental.

What time is MOTD? Golf looks fairly decided and I want to relive the game today. No doubt see another 3 pundits say it wasn’t a foul in a million years. Then again Jenas might be on so there might be one alternate opinion.

I think he’s burned his reputation with this one act

Will be known as a diver / shit-houser for the rest of his career in the prem

Good

He’s going to be tarred as a winey cheating cnut.

Which is good because that’s what he is.

Hopefully someone really takes him out, and he doesn’t get the decision due to his rep.

Whoa horsey :)

I'm not saying it's unique or influenced a result. Just that, to me, Son has always come across as a hard working (and talented), honest footballer and he looks devastated. He's lost before and I've seen post match interviews.. don't remember him looking like that, that's all.

Could be wrong.

And I won't be messaging him, any Spurs player or Spurs fan (I don't know any tbf). I was very pissed at the time, but more at the VAR officials.

3 minutes. Get ready.

I wouldn't trust Jenas to tell me tomorrow is Monday.

I’ve no idea how he became a pundit and a presenter on various shows.

Zero personality and talks drivel. Was a crap footballer as well.
I hate to say this but, young and black. it’s certainly not down to talent. he talks absolute nonsense and his bias always shows.

Is exaggerating a fall or scream cheating?

I think he was so despondent because he knew that game was almost last chance saloon for getting top four. I'm sure Jose really built that up for them pre-match.

I have to say, any vitriol I felt against Son has faded away in the wake of the news he has been racially abused. Why are people like this? Just feck off.

There's a bit of playacting, and then there's the cheating cnut staying down for ages getting 'revived' by the medical team, surrounded by all his team mates for a little flick to the cheek, just so the goal would be chalked off.

'kin embarrassing sportsman.

Him and Lamela can go do one.

Unfortunately it was inevitable.

Why can’t people just call him a cheating cnut. The vitriol for me has not waned, and I hope refs now get wise to him, and even when genuinely fouled, he doesn’t get the decision.

You're still aiming for a false equivalency if im interpreting your question correctly. But no screaming isn't cheating, for example some players are genuinely soft or hyper reactive. Exaggerating a fall where you have been fouled is not cheating. I also don't know why you're asking me about 'cheating.'

Lying on the ground borderline feigning consciousness and faking medical treatment for an extended period, after getting a finger near your face is repulsive behavior in the eyes of most people who enjoy sport and to do so to try get an opponent sent off as well as disallow a goal is especially low and dishonest

I’d actually like to see close up of Son actually on the ground for those 3 mins . It was embarrassing especially checking for concussion

While I won't outright promote it I don't have any issue someone calling him a cheating cnut on socials. It comes with the territory really and you gotta take the praise with the criticisms. However If someone insulted him on the basis of his race that's a whole other matter and we should absolutely report the post, and if it's on here, ban the poster.

I think calling someone a cheating cnut etc is fine, if they’re not directly messaging the player. People are allowed an opinion and all that (though it's often hypocritical in nature, but again that is part of football and is fair enough). The problem is when thousands of people begin to message or comment abuse on the players page. I think in general it's uncalled for, and this moment in time it always seems to lead to racist abuse. It's a shame that a percentage of supporters can't keep it to things like cheating cnut, without bringing race into it.

Did you see the video I posted on the last page, and does that constitute cheating in your eyes?
