Solskjaer target 5 signings; 6 players could leave [BBC, Telegraph, Guardian]

Is that including the 3 that have already left? Fellaini, Valencia, Herrera..

10 out is possible especially if you count guy on the fringes of the first, with the reserves or on loan. 10 in would be bonkers even if you counted youth signings.

Not including Fellaini as he left in winter.
Valencia is basically a reserved team player this season, so not counting him.

Liverpool changed their team with just 4 players (and a top coach).

Allison, Van Dijk, Salah, Mane.

If we get De Ligt, Cancelo, Félix and Sancho we could have a similar improvement.
Those four have doubtlessly played a big role, but I would not dismiss the role Robertson, TAA, and Fabinho have played as well.

Liverpool also didn't add everyone in one night, or make their improvement in one season. It was all done methodically with Klopp implementing his system with assistance from their Technical Director. Without Klopp's determination to instill his style of play and their analytical approach to transfers, they aren't having this success.

After Daniel James, I think Longstaff will be next. Also, I think we could end up with Aarons if we can get Wan Bissaka.

It seems that Ole wants to go British... So, Maguire could be next. Unfortunately, he would cost as much as De Ligt or Koulibaly.

If we are going to sign British players, Wan Bissaka, Maddison and Sancho are the best we can get.

I just hope we don't end up with Bale.

At the moment, it sounds unrealistic the players I want (De Ligt, Cancelo, N'Dombele, Havertz, Sancho, Dybala).

He wouldn't. Koulibaly is more expensive in transfer fees and De Ligt would have cost a bomb in agent fees/plus wages far higher than Maguire.

Also I don't think Longstaff is likely - no "Tier 1" reputable journos are going with the story.

I do think going English could have some good outcome, if we shift lukaku and Alexis and bring in maguire awb sancho and maddison we have improved our first 11. Midfield is a bit of a mystery to me as it's hard to see Herrera not be replaced but we aren't really linked to anyone of the right quality. There is lots of talent out there so maybe the links will emerge

Positive thing we can look at this young british signing policy is that some of them have played premier league and know what to expect every week and might not need much time to settle in. With buying players from South America and rest of Europe you have the risk of the settling in period moving to new league and getting use to the British culture (Fred and Lindelof we're examples, took time to settle and get in to starting 11) These young lads we are targeting already know what to expect. I'm all for this approach.

Spend spend spend. feck it. The team now is incapable of winning anything. I hope that we rack up young talent, from wherever, and put pressure on this overpaid arrogant assholes

We're not signing 5 players, 2 more I expect and another shite season awaits, unfortunately.

Cheer up son. It's not like we've only been linked with some moderately experienced or average English players for huge fees.

The reason that I don't mind the young British move is because if Ole succeeds then we have a long term possible outcome.

If it doesn't then its still useful because the next manager can have the British lads already at United to build the next step.

As I always said - what Ole is doing is what our Dof should be doing anyway. So good direction. Hopefully he uses this season as a way of getting players like Greenwood & Gomes up a gear alongside the others.

Success or not - we need to progress some way or another.

Doubt it will matter, they will be infected by pricks who we wont get rid of anyway.

Top 4:

RB: Meunier/Atal.
CB: Not Maguire. (Ake/Alderweireld/Diop if CB has to be PL experienced, if not then multiple options to choose from)
CM: Rabiot/Barella/Grillitsch.
RW: Ziyech/Sarabia.

And Daniel James.
If Lukaku is sold, get another CM from the targets mentioned.

Ideally we should sell/release/retire 15-17 players in the current squad and replace them with players suited to the modern game over the next two summers.

We aren't signing 5/6 foreign players. All the briefings have been young British talent.

in signing James, and potentially Alderweireld and Wan Bissaka (they seem the most achievable ) this would be a great start to the window and address 3 major issues in the squad

still think a midfielder and another attacker would be the cherry on the cake

We won't go near Aldy, as we've seen the risk in signing players around 30 on whopping deals only too recently.

We should. Maguire would get destroyed in a high defensive line and we could just as well play Smalling instead of paying £60m+ for him. AWB is good defensively, but having two starting fullbacks with little offensive ability is not the way to go....Don't mind the likes of James, Longstaff etc as long as the understanding is that they not bought as starters short term. And if we are going to get top 4(which should be the main short term goal), we need starters able to perform.

Personally, I think the reason for OGS and the rest of the coaching staff is going for British talent is because they will be easier to motivate and play for the club. If OGS had confidence in the average moral and determination of the team he would go for foreign players as they are cheaper and the players we could get would be better.

So at the present moment it's sounding like the 5 incoming will be Wan Bissaka, Bruno Fernandes, Longstaff, a CB who may or may not be De Ligt or Maguire or Ruben Dias or Koulibaly, and the already announced Daniel James.

I would still love to have someone to fill the problem RW spot, Ziyech or Lozano maybe, but it's looking like Ole will persevere for now.

For those who say Lindelof needs someone good in air next to him, Alderweireld is 1.87m... Same as Lindelof.
We might as well give Tuanzebe a chance.
On paper Tuanzebe and Maguire should complement each other.
Both relatively good in getting ball out of defence, Axel is fast while Maguire good in air

I'm not sure he gets a whopping deal - hes on less that about 80k at Spurs if I remember correctly- we could offer him double that and it's still a good deal for all

he is a top CB and would probably be our best defender - for 25m this makes too much sense

if we spend a world record fee.... crazy to even type this - a world record fee on someone like Maguire we need our heads checked

Apparently spurs offered to double his wage but he refused to extend contract

He is looking for 200k +

So anyone think we will finally address our right side of attack after 5 years of waiting?

If he perseveres it'll be his downfall. If Ole wants to play 4 3 3 and goes into the season without a quality right winger, we remain what we have been for years, completely one dimensional. Only other option is if he plays two up top, then he needs another striker.

Wan Bissaka and James cannot be expected to change our toothless right handside and we all know Young, Dalot, Mata and Lingard won't. We need a world class player/talent on the right wing.
