Soldado | Deal to Spurs agreed subject to medical (p2)

Good signing. A tad over priced though.

For the money getting thrown around this summer, I would say he represents a bargain.

With Spurs spending £60m so far this year, I am convinced they have known for a while that Bale was going.

Let's not get too carried away. So far this summer we've spent £49m (not £60), or £40m in net terms.

I agree, however, that £40m is still a lot ... but then we've been saving up some pennies during several past windows.

I think with them having missed out on the Champions League last season they had to spend to try and bridge the gap. It was essential they bought a striker.

Soldado is a brilliant capture for Spurs. I think Arsenal could regret not going in for him.

Apologies, I hit the 6 instead of the 5. £50m for the three, £26m, £17m and £7m.

Spurs have done some good buying. I always tend towards the 'a strong team is better than one great player' side of things, and if they lose Bale they've already gone some way towards ensuring that that's what happens.

Some exceptional shooting technique from what I,ve seen, scored quite a number of goals too.

It's about time he's being made Spain's main striker, hope Del Bosque starts him over Torreth and Villa next year in Brazil.

He'll be a great addition to the Spurs.

What I really like about him is that he often shoots in one touch without trying to control the ball.

I just heard he has scored 81 goals in 141 appearance over last 3 years in La Liga, and he is 3rd behind Messi and Ronaldo. Spur has made a great signing.

I'm taking so little notice of this transfer window that I didn't know this deal had been done. €30M is steep given his age but other than that I think he's a good buy for Spurs.

If he settles in he'll be good at the very least. He'll probably net 20-25 goals though next season. What Spurs need but if Bale goes (or even if he stays) it's still going to be difficult to get 4th. Arsenal always find a way.
