Sorry but he’s not going to change a thing until we sort our tactics out.
I don’t mean it in a disrespectful manner but we need to forget about anything creative with formation changes because it’s simply not going to happen.
ETH is dutch through and through and is not going to do anything other than the classic 433 with the merge of a 4231. This is what the Dutch live and die by. Any ideas of having 2 strikers need to be dismissed unless we sack the manager.
It’s always going to be 1 striker and 2 wingers.
If he plays like he did at Verona, he'll be a fantastic signing. The problem is, at Fiorentina, his manager there was not a fan of his style and changed him for the worse.
The Verona version would be a good alternative to de Jong. He was excellent under pressure and could carry the ball forwards from deep brilliantly. I just hope he still has that in him.

I would agree, but it may be the case that our tactics are messed up due to the options. ETH isn't keen on McTominay its clear. Eriksen doesn't look full match fit and for some reason we sold Fred without a direct replacement. It might just be Mount is being used since the alternative isn't there, causing the problems. Amrabat coming in gives the tactical option to sort things out. Just supposition.
Of course that begs the question why we signed Mount before someone of Amrabat's profile, but it can be we were expecting outgoings to cover incomings and the Mount deal was the simplest to get done and out of the way. We can't assume that the order of the deals was the order of importance, nor that ETH was not somehow let down in the marketplace. For sure it wouldn't be the first time a manager has been shafted by the current execs and ownership and has to make do.

That's the complete opposite of how I remember it. It was being reported he wanted to go to Madrid the whole time, despite us hovering around.
That's a generous framing of the situation towards Ten Hag. ETH has pushed for the signing of Mount to pair him alongside Casemiro and Bruno, it's not like what we're seeing now is a last resort, it was the plan all along.
A lot of people said it's a bad idea months ago, and 2 games in it's abundantly clear those people had a point.
This guy better be good because we really do need something transformative at the minute, not just another squad player.

With how Casemiro is looking, Ambrabrat might be something transformative if he manages to displace him.

The desperation is so deep and so much hope is being pinned on this guy. At this point all utd fans are fully expecting a Arturo Vidal regen.

Well, we talk to him and his agent. If he's set on joining Madrid then we wouldn't bother.
I think the variations in and out of posession will happen similar to Pep. We’ve been doing it ourselves with one of the full backs playing inverted and joining the CDM.
But in terms of attack, I don’t see ETH ever deploying 2 strikers from the start. Managers are generally set in their ways and will live and die by their methods which isn’t a bad thing.
I personally have had a lot of confidence in the decisions Ten Hag has made to date. However, a few recent ones are confusing and I’m struggling to see how it’ll work such as the midfield setup.
However, I do also think we need to see how we look once Hojlund has been integrated as we will have a very different profile of striker at that point. A player who can bring others into the game much better than Rashford can. I think we will see more benefit to the team when our striker isn’t constantly returning the ball back to opposition and forcing multiple transitions upon our midfield.

Does anybody know why he didn't feature at all for his team today? Solely because of the transfer stuff?
It’s looking like they don’t want to scupper any chances of a transfer by him getting injured. He was on the bench but was unused despite Fiorentina making 5 substitutions. The transfer situation is clearly affecting his selection in the team.
Thanks, got it. Have to discourage this kind of behaviour by teams for the sake of the wellbeing of muppets on the outlook. Was ready to watch a fecking Seria A match to build an understanding and then he isn't even on the field.

It sounds like Fiorentina CEO is happy to sell if the price is right. He only has a year left so they would rather sell him than let him go free. Hence they are probably trying to protect the deal from falling through due to an injury.
They have 1 year left plus a 1 year option so they do not have to sell, contrary to popular belief.
I’m praying for this to happen.

Aside from Antony, who was awful? Onana is still new and was so far OK even though it "felt" safer with DeGea, he is the way forward. Malacia AFAIK didn't play for EtH but was scouted in same league. Martinez has been immense. Not sure why Antony is malfunctioning in final third or if he was always like this.
I'm all for that but doubt EtH would do it. It would be great with Højlund/Rashford. Behind a diamond. Our wing play is literally like fielding 9 or 10 instead of 11.
He’s isn’t the player you need IMO, you have a DM, you need a box to box player.
He isn't a DM but more of a DLP,also we can't afford two midfielders anyway

Yeah Gravenberch carries it and should be looking to do some kind of loan deal but this club has no business brains to propose it unfortunately
Bayern's never an easy club to deal with -- unless we are dealing with their surpluses.
Defensive midfielder? Sign him asap. I was harping on about us needing a striker all summer and didn't realise how neglected our defensive midfield options were, not to mention selling Fred. If we don't sign a CDM to support Casemiro and our defense then we will carry on getting dominated in midfield.
