2022 De Jong vibes. Ten Hag and FDJ apparently had more conversations than a 999 operator.
Sign of media creating a live dinosaur from clam chowder again. If we wanted Amrabat, we'd have him by now. We're just not interested and this signing makes zero sense.
So who does make sense then and can we get them signed before 11pm on Friday
I take it you are a glass half full kinda guy….A left back. That's the only position we need cover.
We’ve obviously been planting the “we were never really interested” stories since it’s become apparent we can’t sell anyone and therefore can’t afford him.

If you watch him he is good defensively. I don’t like stats but he has a high success rate for defensive actions. He had a great world cup but he is not really that great of a player. His defensive stats are woeful. He is a decent passer and thats about it.
It’s all about the money. God knows what truth there is in all these links but I can accept the likelihood that we’re short of cash and need to get players off the bill.Sign of the club going against Erik?
This is FDJ all over... wait all summer for an obivous need and miss out. ugh
So who was/is?He was never our number 1 target. It’s become more than too obvious.
So who was/is?
Our club. Who the hell knows. But not this guy.
I don’t know why people draw such definitive conclusions from basically nothing. We just don’t know how keen the club is to get Amrabat. We could surmise that he was a lower priority than the signings we’ve made already but, beyond that, he could be our next priority. It could be in the works, it could be total fabrication.Someone totally unobtainable I guess
Relying on stats without understanding context is a terrible way to judge players. No he is more like Casemiro. The stats and fbref profile don’t paint an accurate picture. You only need to see him play a few times to realise that.
He is perfectly decent defensively and has high success rates for defensive actions. He is also comfortable on the ball and is a good passer. He is also a strong, aggressive personality on the pitch (although Scott can look after himself).
I’ve been following this thread for a long time. Some people prefer to assess him based on stats and some prefer to rely on watching him play. I’m in the latter camp.
I’ve seen him play many times and he is strong defensively. Some people don’t pay attention.Amrabat is far better on the ball no doubt but people who think he is some strong defensive midfielder can't have seen him play.
McT actually has better defensive stats.
It was never alive.Feels like this is dead!
If it was never alive then it can’t be dead.It was never alive.
Has he really? I’m not saying he hasn’t but there is so much bs coming out on this. One source says he’s been promised a move to us and another says we aren’t that interested.Feel sorry for the guy. Been promised a move to us and we’ve not even tried signing him. He’s even trained alone…
Driving down the price. We match the bid on deadline day... and still lose out probably.Feels like his patience is running out.
Some is going to get a bargain on deadline day.
The Telegraph write this evening that he is Ten Hag's preferred midfield option, but it is dependent on United making a sale.

Does anyone think he's better than Dalot? Is he coming here to be a starter or understudy? Do we not trust Malacia?
He's been an absolute disaster at Chelsea, so are we looking at his work for Brighton and believing we can extract that? If yes, our whole method of attack has to be so much more assertive because he's really bad defensively and with Martinez and Casemiro on his inside channels and Rashford not tracking back, there's a real worry of us getting roasted by good flank play down our left with him in the team. On the other hand, if we manage to go the ultra attacking route, he'd be in his element.
EtH seems to be really intent on sticking to his attacking principles by even looking in this guy's direction.

Can't loan a player with 1 year left on the contract.Loan with obligation to buy then?
