So it's renewal time. Anybody else packing in their ST?

Will/would you renew your ST?

Because the decision wouldn't be based on just this season. For the past 3 years the board have repeatedly shown gross incompetence, and absolutely no concern at all at trying to fix the situation until it's far too late.

Even with van Gaal gone, that isn't going to change.

Top manager + war chest = Winning

OK, so it's not that easy but if we hire the right person and have a clear out I think we will become competitive again.

I can see what it's trying to ask, but it's too simplistic to make sense.

Where is the cut-off for if somebody is rich / near to Manchester enough to be making their decision based on the quality of football?

In reality everybody here has chosen whether to get a season ticket based on a range of factors, and it means nothing for somebody that has no intention of getting a season ticket to claim that they "would renew if they had one".

You'll either get one or you won't, and whether you already have one is not really relevant. The poll would make more sense just saying "will you be getting a season ticket next season?".
But the underlying point of the OP was whether the shit on display will put people off renewing, so for the purposes of the question anything else isn't relevant.

The question " will you be getting a ST?" would be pointless because it'd be about 95% 'no' with no context.

Living in Hong Kong, obviously I don't have a season ticket, but this will mark the first season in many years that I've not visited Old Trafford for any game at all.

Fair enough - renders the last 2 options pointless though.

It really doesn't. I chose the last option, "I don't have a ST, but if I did, I'd keep it." I live in Scotland and financially a ST would be a big outlay, but my work commitments at weekends are the main reason I don't attend matches more regularly. If I did have a ST though, I would renew it for next season. The football hasn't been great and I want to see a change of manager, but I would still want to go even if LVG remained in charge. As it stands, I think we will see a new manager and some new signings, on which basis I would definitely renew a ST, if I had one.

Will I be buying a ST? Well, no, but not because of LVG or the football on display, which is the point of the thread and the reason for the last two options in the poll.

I don't have a season ticket. Simply can't afford one. Won't be able to next year either. Despite that I think the last few years I've gone as much as ever. I've managed to go 14 games this year. I can pretty much walk to the ground though, for me going to the game is always a good laugh as long as you're with your mates.

I spent a few years scrabbling around for tickets, on viagogo, ringing the club, membership etc, but all routes were quite frustrating, very costly, not guaranteed until late on, and often meant you were stuck somewhere random in the ground. Also, I did a few of my early games on my lonesome, as you could only get 1 through some of the above.

Therefore, when the club officially allowed passing tickets to pals/family, it made sense for me to buy 2 season tickets and work from there.

I've had the last 3 years as a season ticket holder, and despite it being Moyes/VG I've pretty much enjoyed the whole experience.

I'm 3 hours away, so tend to do 7-10games a season, and sell the rest off. I'm also a season ticket holder at Wycombe, so if the two clash, i'll do Wycombe, unless it's a huge game. This season has been quite bad for clashes unfortunately, whereas last season was really good.

I have a "Pool" of about 20 people I can turn to from work people/pals/past acquaintainces, but a lot relies on 2 people, one who takes about 6/7 a year, and a co worker at our Bury office, who can take a few of those awkward winter/midweekers. Opt out of the league cup and Europa too, as the potential of loads more midweekers is too dangerous.

So far so good really arrangement wise, tend to get a couple of games a season that take pure persistence to shift, but no non sells so far.

Though Palace next Wednesday is awkward so far....may still drive up, but all my usual drive up partners, or "Meet up" at the ground partners are out , so despite having days off booked around it, it's looking likely I'd have to shift at least one, maybe the pair..
Am holding off officially asking to sell on the buy/sell group for now, but if anyone's keen, drop me a PM and i'll explore it with you!

@Sandikan You seem to have a good plan in place. Most of our tickets have gone to waste this season, I know a couple of guys are up for any game but the majority of them only want tickets for the "big games". As you can imagine trying to sell three tickets for the Villa game was bit of task.

I keep an exceptionally keen eye on it, we're talking spreadsheets etc!
I charge a little admin fee on top of a pair, so that it builds a miniscule pot that would protect against say 1 game a season missed out on selling. Pretty fair I think, as they're largely getting the tickets for the same price membership would get them anyway, and obviously not having to buy the membership at £30

The irritating part is when people say they'll get back to you and never do. Once you have to chase them you usually know it's a no.
If I trust someone, and they've bought before, I allow cash late on, but if they're new, I make sure it's confirmed into the bank...

We have a Manchester office too, and I'm hoping I might find a new regular ticket taker there...that'd be very handy, as you always have to be prepared for people's circumstances changing. For instance, a guy who took 2 a season, now has a third kid, so is out for the foreseeable.
Similarly, a mate I meet up there, who'd never turned a ticket down before this season, has turned about 4 down, and only got to 1 game the whole season....big games too!

It's ok for people to admit they don't want to watch because we are a bit shit and don't win as much anymore. It happens to every club.

The point is we seem to be happy doing nothing about it but they still expect people to keep spending.

Can 'I used to own one but haven't renewed post Fergie' be added to the poll please?

It would be interesting to see how many people have chosen not to renew under Moyes and Van Gaal.

Well we haven't done "nothing."

We've just done a lot of things wrong in hindsight. And a lot of things wrong without the need for hindsight

I mean nothing as in getting rid of what everyone in the world apart from who matters can see is the wrong man for the job.

Your bloody daft if you do.

The shite some clubs go through with relegation battles and the like season upon season and we hit a bad patch where we are playing boring football and the manager responsible has one more year left at the most and toys are thrown out the pram with people talking of scrapping their season tickets. Get a grip for god sake.

Relegation battles are exciting tbf.
