Sky: Spurs appeal to FA to award the second goal against Stoke City to Harry Kane | Spurs win appeal

Why is it pathetic? I'd be more worried if a striker on my team wasn't obsessed by goals, he felt that he touched the ball and he's on the race for being the top scorer in the league. What's the problem? Should he pretend he doesn't care?

Or because it's my opinion... good to see the obsession is still as high as ever though, very impressive. Most great goalscorers are obsessed about goals and would care about having one of their goals taken away if they felt they had scored it, only reason they haven't done the same is because they haven't been in the same position.

It is pathetic because first off it's not as if it was his shot that was ruled an own goal. It was his teammates shot and his teammates goal, he's trying to steal it.

And also because he almost certainly didn't even touch it, and to swear on his daughters life when he most likely knows he didn't touch it pathetic. Hell even if he has convinced himself he did touch it on the way in it's still pathetic to swear on a child's life over something like football.

Swearing on his daughter's life is completely idiotic to say the least.
If one had to do something to confirm all stereotypes about footballers and tottenham this would have been it. Great striker, glad he not my dad though

That goal could be the difference between him beating Salah to the golden boot or not.
You know how Liverpool fans will react to winning this major trophy.

Kane didn’t touch it, in my opinion.

If it was Wanyama on the end of a Kane cross nobody would give a shite. It does seem very small-time but then for a team who hasn't won a major trophy in 27 years (league cup doesn't count) these things become more important.

Isn’t it just odd though..? You only swear on your daughters life if you’re accused of murder or something pretty huge- not if you touched a cross from Erikson.
And then Spurs actually appealing..

On one hand it’s nothing and on another hand it’s just a really odd situation. Are Spurs this desperate to win something??

You’re right actually. Completely unnecessary.

Such a cringe worthy thing to do, pathetically embarrassing.

Kane ''i swear on my daughters life i touched it, but there's nothing i can do now'' the only thing missing is this cnut finishing off with 'Justice will prevail''

Have the Premier League ever awarded a goal to someone, days after the game, just because the player asked them to look into it?

Nobody has bothered asking which tells you everything you need to know.

 Yeah as someone said, does anyone think Spurs would be fecking appealing if Wanyama was the one in Kane’s position?

Honestly this must be horrific for dressing room spirit.

Fair play to Spurs. At least someone is trying to save Harry's daughter.

Spurs are not a "big club" at this point in time and this clearly demonstrates that. How small time can you get?

EDIT: ^ They haven't won anything in 50 years, they may be a part of the "top 5" (not top 6 anymore as arsenal dont even compare to the other 5 now), as they are a very good side atm, but there are only 5 clubs in england i regard as "big clubs", and they are the other "top 6" teams.

Sad by Kane and Spurs.

Even in the unlikely event he touched it. I still wouldn't even deem it to be his goal if it scraped nothing more than a piece of hair or something. Unless the ball changed the slightest trajectory, these "imaginary" touches shouldn't be taken seriously.

Only the English goldenboy can get away with this without being mocked.

It's pathetic because it shows a sad desperation to need validation/recognition. Great goalscorers are obsessed with performing i.e obsessed with scoring goals/affecting games just as much as great midfielders are obsessed with controlling games, creating chances and other midfielderly things, or great defenders are obsessed with defending well. For the TEAM. It's one thing to have an insatiable desire to do well for your team. And another to want goals already scored by said team to be recorded in your name. Unless he did something incredible on route to the goal which clearly warranties him getting the credit it's bizarre that a player should go out of his way to tweet people to discuss his case and then get his club appeal.

And yes you're obsessed. No need to reconfirm it. But that's your wish. You're entitled to have what I consider to be a skewed view. As I am to have a view you don't agree with.

Peter Crouch in 2005 for his first goal for Liverpool against Wigan, initially an own goal, but later given to Crouch (I think)

Even if he did touch it, you don't swear on your daughter's life for a goal in football. And it doesn't even look like he touched it anyway, what a muppet. Also wanting to take credit for a goal that at best slightly touched your shirt and didn't change direction in the slightest seems like a pretty shitty thing to do to your teammate.

I really hope Mane scores tonight & Salah says he touched the ball despite being far away :D

He doesn't even seem to get close to the ball... that's just pathetic.

Kane: "I touched it. But I swear, I did not have sex with that ball".

(all forgiven when he moves to United, though).

I've been thinking about this.

How many other people are trying to claim it and what's the closing date? Do we know?

Have to say I’m not impressed with Kane here at all, would have been much better to simply say “I felt the ball touch my shoulder but I’m happy for Christian to claim it”.

Having said that it’s all got a bit blown out of proportion lol.

I'd be pissed if I was Eriksen. Having your club and teammates try to take a goal away from you and give it to someone else even when he didn't touch it.

He never even touched it.

Just when I was starting to believe it might have gently glanced his shoulder, this clip confirms it absolutely did not.

Shocking by Kane and Spurs. If Eriksen came out and said it did go in off Kane then fair enough, but they're even trying to upset one of their key players.

Kane should be embarrassed for the comment about his daughter. The media should publish this clip to make him ashamed.

He never even touched it.

Didn’t look like he touched it from the other angles, but it’s quite clear from this video that he didn’t. Kind of weird to be so adamant about it. Coincidentally we use the word «harry» in Norway about strange or creepy things or people:wenger:

I thought he touched it in a couple of the clips I’ve seen but it’s one of those where it depends on the angle.

If Spurs want to appeal it then I don’t have a problem - it may well be given to him.

What sort of bloke goes in front of the t.v cameras and swears on his daughter's life he got a slight touch. What a shithouse.

He probably doesn't care. With this appeal I'm starting to think they consider Kane winning the golden boot a trophy on its own. There's no other reason for such an appeal.
Looking forward to the DVD
