Six new incomings! Who will they be?

Manager - yeah we need 6 signings

Erm - surely you knew this in the summer, where we in effect went down a player overall, having lost Fellaini, Sanchez, Lukaku and Sanchez?

The exact same briefing was doing the rounds this summer. How daft does Woody think we are

I would agree that we require at least six. I would put the chances of Woodward et al actually achieving that, at zero.

Bailly
Fosu-Mensah
McTominay
Rashford

and we’ll pull out of the last two deals over an asking price.

Even if true, this would take us 3 x summers to complete.

Bear in mind, that with each of those windows, another 1-2 first teamers will be considered deadwood that need replacing and boom - you've got yourself a perpetual, never-ending rebuilding job.

Don't forget the players who will be queueing up to jump ship. Pogba won't be the last one to leave if this farce continues into next season.

I think far too many people on this forum are used to playing FIFA.

Why would any top player want to come to United? History? No.... Because we are Man United, no chance.

If I were a top or up and coming player I would look at the dross I would have to play with, the contracts given to absolute inferior players, and the way the club has acted with transfers when trying to attract players.... and a tactically inept manager with no experience, and that is simply acting as a puppet for the owners.

I would be giving this club a wide berth.

The club is literally dying before our eyes from the inside out, and then fans are still expected to pay a premium to watch this team?! It's all relative.

Yeah I'm sick of this kind of thing from the club. It's clear as day we're being run poorly and there are no signs it'll get any better with Woodward and Ole in charge. I hate to go on about Liverpool but the difference between us and what they did under FSG; righting the ship after Hodgson and the cowboys under Dalglish, getting Rodgers in to push on but thanking him for his services three years later when Klopp became available, giving the German time and backing with a revamped transfer/scouting policy, is really night and day. Basically we're being told that no-one should be held accountable for pouring hundreds of millions down the shitter to amass the poorest squad we've had in the PL era and a rookie management team and that pushing on with a plan that has yielded next to no tangible positives will get us back on the path to top honours.

When he came in I accepted that Ole had a hell of a job to do, and that some poor results and missteps were going to be part and parcel of it, but I'm really struggling to keep the faith now and rubbish like 'six new players' when we're in a transfer window and seem to be doing bugger all isn't helping with that.

I’ll bite:

Sell:

Pogba - 100-120 (if he wants to leave)
Jones/Rojo - 10-15
Smalling - 20-25
Shaw - 20
Matic/Sanchez - free’s

150-180 million

In:

Mertens - Free
Ziyech - 30 (if his release clause is correct)
Grealish - 45 (release clause if correct
Ruiz - 70
Partey - 43 million (release clause if true)
Telles - 35-40
Bellingham - 30 (loan back)
Upamecano - 70

328 million

DDG/Henderson
Telles/Williams
Maguire/Axel
Upamecano/Lindelof/Bailly
AWB/Dalot
Ruiz/Fred
Partey/Scott
Grealish/Lingard/Mata
Rashford/James
Martial/Greenwood
Ziyech/Mertens

Not that the majority of those players would come for the prices or the sales, but I could dream.

Regular as clockwork. Come December we get talk there’s money to spend in January. Once that’s over and nobody signs we get talk of 5 or six signings to come soon and they’re definitely backing the manager. We’ll have the usual three in three out as best case scenario this summer. When that’s seen to not be enough we’ll repeat the cycle.

ST: Tevez
CAM: Rooney
RW: Nani
CM: Cleverley
CB: Smalling
RB: Young (return from Inter)

Maybe Gibson as a bonus seeing as we could use another assist King.

Job done

Hes probably referring to this

Feck off Woody. You knob
Wolves must be the envy of every club then as that is impressive.

Obvious press bollocks is obvious. But even if it wasnt, how many current day coaches get to work with a team of purely their signings? Modern coaches are expected to do just that, coach as well as sign players to fir their play style.

Watched them last night, they play good football - it's practically a ball playing center back, a rapid winger and a real number 9. The rest are workers.

But there head coach is and has been doing a great job there...

Besides Pogba, De Gea, Rashford and Martial, I don't think any other player can better United.

I believe in Ole and what he is trying to do. I like the players he's targetting. Young, and hungry for success. I think in the summer transfer window we will see players around the age of 22/24

My prediction 6 signings are;
1. Richarlison
2. Leon Bailey
3. Jack Grealish
4. Harry Winks
5. Lorenzo Pellegrini
6. Theo Hernandez

Neves and Doherty are quality players
I am a bit surprised that Jota has not kicked on from last season as I think they were a better side then.
They have done well to get end product out of Traore as I have seen him at other clubs and while he had all the tools he was frustrating to watch.

They'll all be nobodies.
I read that as noodles for a moment.

Anyway,no disrespect to the op but there really wasn't any point in creating a thread.
We've seen these briefing released over the years and nothing, since LVG first season, have came to fruition.

Its just bs really.

COnsidering the way we have bungled the Fernandes situation and to be honest the purchasing of Sanchez, Di Maria, Falcao, etc. I do not trust the current Manchester United organisation to purchase more than 2 required players for a normal fee.

I'd rather get in a loan or cheap older striker to cover Rashford's injury another to cover McTom/Pogba and leave the rest of the purchases for our new manager

it bollo@£s i have read that tweet for two and half years now and it's the main reason i was looking forward to this season, I thought we would buy 5 first team players, we got 2.

Both Longstaff brothers. Rice too then our midfield is sorted.
Chris wood in up front since he scored against us with Welbeck back as backup.
Then Walcott for the wings.

200 M and job is done!

Getting a striker on loan with option to buy in the summer should be a good move for United (i don't have any names though).

Just think that a striker with something to prove will add considerable determination to our front line, which has been lost with Rashford out due to injury

Yeah we will have made 6 new signings by January 2022 to help us push for promotion from the championship

I was actually thinking the same after the Burnely match, that we needed six players.

Exact same positions too.
