This is well and truly a brief to buy more time from the fans but for what?

for example. If we have some brilliantly planned bright future surely we’ve told pogba and he wants to be part of it? That’s absolutely not the case going by his agent. I don’t think anyone really knows what’s going on at the club anymore. I worry this is austerity united full of empty promises and pogba will leave because of it. I’d say when he was signing we told him we were going to bring in big stars and we would be winning stuff by the end of his deal and it all sounded great...

I have a feeling we will continue to sign 3 players each summer with balancing the books very much in mind. We will sign 2 starters and a punt and however many youth prospects we have lined up. That wouldn’t be so bad if we were spotting the right players but I don’t think that’s fast enough progress for a lot of fans or for a player who was promised the world. I for one am as low as I’ve ever been as a united fan but I think if we sign superstar youth players (Havertz, Sancho etc) then keep adding a best of British core then we will compete again. Our scouting and slow transfer team have been appalling and they seem to be getting worse do worry about that. Most of all I only want players who are coming here to prove something special on the pitch and not in the fashion world or online. Maguires been pretty shite but he’s playing injured and it’s his first season in an injury ravaged and thin squad. Fred good. James good. Awb good. Our last few signings have all shown a lot of desire so I think they are getting that bit right at last. Are they potentially really top players though? I have my doubts and worries about all of it. I don’t think our scouts are any good and I don’t think we are a big enough draw for the obvious best players anymore either.
 
If we buy 2-3 players it would be good summer.6?NO way.

When will people learn not to include youth players in future squad assessments? Back in August people were already having Gomes, Chong and Garner in their first XIs. You never know how these things turn out and you’ve probably never seen a youth game with them in it.

Six incomings will take us approx 2-3 years to being in based on our history.

By then we'll have sold a few and some more will have become deadwood so well likely need another 2 minimum.

So if every signing is successful it'll be about 4+ years before Ole has what he wants

Would make sense if we made 2 in January and 4 in summer, but we all know that'll never happen. At most I see us getting 4 players, but with Pogba, Matic, Rojo and others leaving which puts our squad back to being thin as feck again.
 
6 new signings of the starting XI calibre? Ok, any semi-shit player currently costs 50m+, so it’s a 300m pounds expense at least. And that’s if we don’t consider any good ones like Sancho or Madisson

We spent a significance sum of money to acquire Mejbri from ASM. And it would be sheer incompence not to plan ahead with him as a potential future starter.

I've probably watched more United youth games than probably 90% of the fanbase.
 
The likelhood of us signing 6 (!) is as likely as me, you,the 2 posters above this point,Winnie the Pooh and Obi Wan Kenobi signing in the summer.

No where does it state that we're gonna sign 6 players in one window. But the current hierachy have delivered 6 players in one window in the past under LVG.
 
Of course we are going to sign 6 players. And of course they would be Messi, Ronaldo, Mbappe, De Bruyne and Van Dijk.
 
To all those that think they're talking about the summer, it doesn't say that in the article.

Basically they're saying solskjaer will be here a few years whilst we bring in those 6 players. There's no deadline or target mentioned for when this will happen, which is even worse and buys Woodward a lot if time. Good times.
 
Standard Woodward propaganda bullshit. We will spend 150 max in the summer leaving glaring holes in the team yet again, and brief the media how difficult is to conclude more than 3 deals in one summer.

Just saying, we’ve spent significant amounts of money (relevant to the time) before on youth level players and many of them have not made the grade. Tomlinson, Henrique, Lee Martin (the other one), TFM to name a few.

We may plan for him to join up with the first team squad in 2 years or whatever but there’s no guarantees. We need first team level players in our equations now
