Sir Alex Ferguson Tribute Thread

For me, two managers stand above all others, in any sport. Sir Alex Ferguson and John Wooden. Both were not only fantastic managers, but also good men.

As the tributes pour in, I'd like to read more about what Fergie accomplished in his 25 years in professional football as a player and manager in Scotland. That record alone warrants lavish praise, much like what Wooden accomplished before his incredible title run at UCLA.

Both had much to teach us about how to live our lives as human beings, which speaks as much about them as men as do their trophy hauls.

the only positive is that some new documentations about SAF will be shown in the next few weeks. Sad day for United - will be strange to see someone else on the touchline.

The best manager ever, my 2 best moments are 1999 and the other is, him running on the pitch after Bruce scored that late late goal against Sheffield.
There will never be another manager like him, very sad day, the end of an era.

Is this true? Where did you hear that? Because I'm at tipping point for the waterworks here and if that's true there's no stopping them
 
Now, finally to write something more about him now when I am finally aware that he has retired.

First of all, I am really really gutted to see him retiring, I really cannot imagine United without him, because this Manchester United is Sir Alex Ferguson.

He is really great manager, big and influential person in world of sports and football, amazing character, and biggest winner I have saw in my life,so it's really sad to see him him leaving United.

I was really shocked when I read he is retiring, I really thought he had at least one or two years left. I am 95% sure that reason for his retiring is his health, because he stated so many times that he will be here as long as he is fit and healthy.

I know it's selfish, but I hoped he should have stayed more, but his health is the most important thing after all, so I wish him to rest well, and enjoy the pension, even tough I am sure he will continue to live similar life. He is workaholic, always has been, and I am sure he will continue to live that way.
I am glad to see him staying and being our director and ambassador, I am sure he will give lot of help to our next manager.

To sum up, thanks for everything Fergie, good luck, and enjoy in the rest of your life, you've earned it.
 
Thank you Sir Alex for 27 incredible years....I was 8 when he took over and we've been lucky to enjoy watching the team we love give us so many fantastic memories.....

so many amazing games and nights live on in the memory and Alex has had a central role in enriching any United fans life

we'll never see his like again - Thanks Fergie!
 
During Sir Alex's tenure:

Real Madrid had 24 or 25 managers
Chelsea had 18 managers
Arsenal had 8 managers
Liverpool had 10 managers
Barcelona had 14 managers
England had 12 managers'
and US had 5 presidents and two of them were George Bush

Thank you Sir Alex for proving to the world that one team can have it all. Thank you for also setting an example for others to see what a true dedicated manager should be. His contribution is priceless and cannot be matched. Years and decades from now we'll still be talking about one of the greatest managers that ever lived ...Sir Alex
