Should we consider selling Pogba?

The question for years has been whether he’s world class or not, but the question should be revised to is he even remotely good?

Easy target for sure, and I know some others have been as bad today, but they also don’t carry around his reputation, fee, wages, etc.

Comes up with the odd good trick but don’t think he’s ever been helpful points-wise.

And that's just the type of nonsense people who're blinkered r.e. Pogba come out with, when Ole first took over he was integral to that run we had which led to Ole being given the job. Lots of assists, some goals, he even hit the post like 10 times that one season. He was also pretty good when he came back from injury in the second half of last season.

He's teflon
It's almost as if Ole is scared to death to drop him
Pogbas been way off the pace from the first game
Why wasn't Van de Beek played until Pogba found match sharpness in the cup games?
He's too languid, too casual, too posturing for me
As a coach I wouldn't have him in my team as he's a liability, and far too inconsistent
I'd almost say he's too languid for this league and the pace of it
He's capable of moments of quality but then spends about 30 minutes cantering around admiring what he's done
What I don't get is he doesn't fit Oles system as in he's not a hard working deep pivot, but he's preserving with him
Is it to say I've given you your chance but you don't fit?

And it's not just Pogba there's still average quality in this squad such as Bailly, Matic, Lindelof and Shaw

Guy is a clown. Nobody is going to go out to try and buy him anyway with his wages and price. Get rid if anyone does, but it's not happening.

Sadly not worth f%^k all, based on his level nowadays. Be lucky to get 50

That 80 million that supposedly Madrid was willing to offer last offseason doesn’t seem too bad now.

Consider? at this point its a certainty. He is a waste of space.

I've said it many times in this thread. He's been here for four seasons and people are still making excuses about playing him in the right position, getting players in the team that suit him or a better manager, a different formation, its all nonsense. I backed him to a fault for the first 3 years but after a while you can't ignore all the evidence. Pogba is a luxury player and is one of the last players you want to rely on to lead your team. He's immature, lazy and has very little instinct in reading a football game.

We absolutely need to sell him and finally get some real balance in the squad. The worst thing we can do is offer him a contract of near £400k a week and find ourselves wondering how to get the best out of him in another 3 years.

Most overrated player to ever put on our shirt.

He would probably have been a great player at Madrid. For whatever reason, it doesn't work here. Whether it's work ethic, coaching, the squad, etc.... I don't think Pogba fits in for the team.

Why is he always so slow to mark his man, track back or defend at least somewhat decently? You have Bruno fernandes, rashford and other players giving it 100% and he just slowly jogs.

He's 27. Supremely talented but not a CM or an AM. We are cash strapped relative to the improvement we need to make. So yeah, I'd sell for a decent offer. But knowing us well give him a fat new contract so our brand name is protected and we can show everyone Pogba is in with the project.

1-6 down and this cnut is laughing. What a disgrace.

I’m fecking laughing. I’m genuinely unsure what I do if I don’t laugh. Probably one of the lowest points I’ve had in following United in 35 years.

If we renew Pogba's contract, that increased security at Woody's might have to be permanent.

From bad to worse at the moment. Of course, he is capable of playing MUCH better than he’s started this season, and there’s a bit of kicking when down here - but there are serious questions about how he fits into the team. He doesn’t have the defensive capabilities at all. Right now his passing and general play is terrible too, although I’ll forgive that as I haven’t just started watching him this month, and I’m satisfied he knows how to pass a ball. But in a double pivot, he’s a liability for sure. He needs a Matic and Herrera in the team, at the moment, a choice needs to be made between him and Bruno. On current form, he wouldn’t win that fight either. That said, we can’t sell him for any sort of respectable fee in the current market, and he’ll probably either leave for free or swap, very little if he ends up going.

That said, this is probably the worst spell of form I’ve ever seen from him, and of course, it is the perfect opportunity to drive the nail in. He is certainly a better player than this current version, but even still, once Bruno was brought into the team, any chance of it working over a long period of time totally went.

Woeful again. Actually laughing after conceding that penalty. Neither offering us anything defensively or attacking wise. Literally nothing.

Can someone tell me why we would buy one of the hottest midfield prospects in Europe who’s clearly one of the only fit players right now and very talented but start him on the bench when the midfielders (mainly Pogba) can barely even raise a sprint.

While a lot of what’s in here is knee jerk I do think Pogba and United aren’t a good fit and he should move on. Can’t for the life of me work out where his best position is and he strikes as a central midfield luxury player which is an oxymoron.

Yes please. You can't build a team around inconsistent flashes of brilliance, nor can you defend the wages and price tag.

He's absolutely miles off the pace and as a result should be nowhere near this team.
Is he in the France squad for the internationals?
He probably needs to be fecked off on some intensive fitness camp
PSG seem to want to get a few more bodies in, perhaps they'd be open to taking him on loan for the season

You would think he would have the bollocks to put in a performance against a Jose team but not no, nothing.

feck him off.

Extremely astute observation.

This is a stratagem that narcissists use against people they perceive as 'stronger' (whether physically, or in the case of Jose vs Pogba, morally).

Long story short, if you act like you're above it and don't try/look like you care enough to put in the effort, they can't say you failed/lost. This is done to preserve the fragile belief that one is 'better'.

I think he can only play for team that’s at the top. He would go Bayern and look incredible. His a YouTube, highlights player that needs quality and protection around him. Never a player that can transform a team in transition and 100% can’t be a player you build a team around. That’s why his a sideman for France.

Why is he even playing so much? He’s been the worst player since the restart.

I've been a Pogba fan ever since the academy and this may be my first time actually saying this: we should sell him sooner than later, doesn't fit, no space in the team, massive rebuild still on 1% progress and although once I thought he might be a good building block, I no longer think so

This is what i said a month ago. He could go to PSG, Juve, Bayern, Real, Barca etc. and would look really good. But the main reason why he would look good is because those clubs are light years ahead of the other teams in the retrospective league.

Im not 100% sure about that. You could be right but I think he'd thrive there. Bruno is top quality there too.

We've played him in so many positions with so many different partners and he's consistently underwhelming.

Aside from the 8 weeks after Mourinho was sacked he's been an incredibly frustrating player.

I'd 100% get rid if we can.

Same. He doesn’t want to be here, and I think he’ll probably make the board’s mind up for them. I don’t really doubt that he’ll go to another top team and look great though.

Your point about him hitting the post sums up his adulation amongst many the best: the idea that he almost does something good had been taken into account for so long without resulting in anything.

He was also not “pretty good” when he came back last season and almost cost us top four with the blatant handball vs West Ham.

Worst signing post-Fergie - who was absolutely right to be sceptical about him.

Making a U-turn on my initial thoughts. Get rid. He's just not worth the trouble. Constantly having to build the team to suit his needs when he's the one who needs to sort it out. Much rather see Donny over him now.

That being said, if Ole does go it'd be interesting to see how a new manager works with him. If he's still poor after a 3rd manager then clearly he's the problem

See that's the hyperbole I don't get, I like Pogba but I'll admit his woefully unfit currently and has a tendency to overplay and mess things up in midfield. But at the same time I can see there's a quality player there, he's shown that multiple times with his passing.

It's just a combination of things that means he's not as good as he should be for us - for example he always excels for France. But to call him the worst signing post SAF when we've had dross like Darmian, Sanchez, Bastian and even Di Maria for £55m?
