When someone is doing as badly as Onana is, it's natural to think any one else would be better. And there's no risk really in playing Bayindir because our league results are pretty meaningless. He's worth a chance, as Onana got so many, but I'm far from convinced he'd be any better.

I mean 2nd keeper should not be used as an emergency option only but also as a way to pressure the main guy. Think Lindegard-de Gea early on.
Onana deserves to be dropped.

Yeah, Onana needs to get the message. He’s been fecking awful and should be looking for a new club in the summer. Allowing him to keep fecking up in the number one spot isn’t the way

I think he should be given a chance. Onana continues to make similar mistakes way too often. I'm not even trying to sh** on him but he's not a great shot stopper at all.

The longer Bayindir spends on the bench, the better player he is. Two full-time and one interim managers have looked at him in training every day and decided not to go with him. EtH signed him so maybe had some skin in the game, same can't be said for Ruud or Ruben. Neither Bayindir or Onana are good enough and we need a new keeper after this season.

Maybe with Onana because they spent so much money on him they feel obliged to play him.

Ten Haag for sure, but I can't see Amorim feeling any such obligation, we paid more for Casemiro and he barely features. Much more likely he considers him the least worst option right now.

There could be pressure from higher level up saying to play him but likely the reason is as it was said, a few different managers saw Bayindir in training and maybe he isn't that convincing.

I felt the few cup games he's played he hasn't done too much wrong.

He‘s a good shot stopper but has mistakes in him. Parrying the ball back into play and has a tendency to let crosses in if it looks someone might get on the end of it.

Even if it's only temporary, can't have someone in the team who continuously gives away goals. Needs to be punished

Who was it then. Lindelof pen was poor so was zirkzee . Onana was good at what . He saved what a decent keeper should . That's just a given .

I’m not saying he should be praised, I’m saying he shouldn’t be blamed for us being knocked out.
If the attacking players had anything about them we wouldn’t have needed to try and win a shootout.

Correct were not good enough , neither is Onana, he's still a problem and will cost us , Bayindir would have started if he wasn't injured and he fills the goal in a shoot out , he may not be the better keeper, but in a one off shoot out the opposition player sees him , and thinks he's a big lad.... Onana isn't a big keeper , like Bartez was ,both are very similar, but Bartez had better in front.. . He may well have not been at fault, hes just not good enough.

Me personally, I would have approached Kasper Schmeichel prior to his arrival at Glasgow Celtic.....but what do I know compared to the wise guys responsible for our other spectacular signings ?
