You can’t remember the last match we played?

But anyway, I agree. He’s been terrible. He’ll have the odd great game left in him, but generally as a top level footballer, he’s finished. He’s lost a step, and the only thing he had left, because his dribbling and movement was gone, was his deadly finishing when put in the right area, but he’s a step behind everyone now. Given his size he should be able to hold the ball up, but his touch is atrocious. He traps the ball further than some players pass it.

Maybe, just maybe, he has some serious ring rust having missed pre-season, but I feel that’s grabbing at straws. At his age he needed an excellent pre-season to have a chance of being competitive.
