Sergio Reguilón

I’m on board with this. Shaw had his time here. No point in keeping him around if he’s never fit. Completely against the idea of any sort of buy back clause for Madrid though.

I think it would be a good competition for both of them. I'm far from Shaw's biggest fan but he has shown that he is capable of performing to a high level - Reguilon challenging him for the LB position may push him to perform consistently, injuries permitting.

Would love him but a compromise will be required against the buy back clause. Maybe we buy him for 30m and after 2 years if we don't want to sale him back we pay another 10-15m.

if he's cheap I guess. Not sure how I feel about taking a Madrid player and potentially improving them only for them to just take him back in a couple of years. It would be different if we had someone like Laird coming through on the left.

"Don't think so...this guy can be a good guidance for them". So...are you saying we should sign him even though you don't rate him?

Also, the Spanish teenagers are no way near ready to challenge for a starting place - hence them joining the academy, not the first team.

I dont want anyone near to our team unless I really feel they are the best. I watched this guy a lot and I do believe this guy can improve our attacking

I don’t really mind a buy back. He’ll be competing with Shaw anyway. If we sign him for £20m & the buy back is £40m that’s not too bad, similar to Morata at Juve a few years ago. We could just use the money to replace him.

LB is a very very important position to improve this season. I never want to see Williams there again.
If he becomes a key player for us, £40m for a key player is a joke. I can't see us accepting a buy back clause unless it is ridiculous money.

Can't see us agreeing to a buy-back clause, we're not fecking Sassuolo.

They say we're better positioned than Sevilla given that we can afford to offer a long term contract while Sevilla want another loan.

It's a no brainer for me, no guarantee that Real will ever use the buy back or even insert one given that they're better stocked at LB than RB and they let Hakimi go without inserting one earlier this summer.

Marcelo is still around for another year or 2 and Mendy is Zidane's first choice along with being on track to bw first choice for France too

Then I agree. But I get the feeling we'll only go after a LB if a quality CDM isn't viable. RWF and CB are the priority in that order, I reckon. LB would be more of a luxury. We don't tend to buy several players in 1 window. But who knows?Maybe we'll be financially smart enough to go for a loan with an option to buy.

Then I suppose we'll have to pay more than €25m for him.

Yes absolutely if we are serious about his potential in succeeding at United.

No use getting him for a lower fee if we have no control over his future and potential sale value if he was to become a key player in our team.

I don’t think we will do this deal but I really hope we do. It would massively improve our fullback options.

The buy back is a nonsense, don't believe Madrid would even table that to a club like us to be honest. And if they did I'd laugh in their faces.

Seems we are interested in this one. I've not seen enough of him to know how I feel about this one.

Any kind of buy-back option has to be a red line that we just say no to - would essentially be an extended loan option that they could cancel at any point with no long-term benefit to us at all.

Would accept paying a higher fee to remove that option.

Buy back clause is rubbish. We are not some feeder club ffs. If he will play, his price will go up. So Real will feck us like they did with Juve. They bought Morata back and sold him to Chelsea for much bigger fee.

Isn't this guy master at giving penalties away? He was very error prone in the finals. Not sure about this one.

I would definitely be all for signing this guy if we were genuinely interested of course

Didnt think of that but looks like it is really a good option- "Loan with an Option to Buy"

If they want a buy back, it should be like £50/60m. We should really stay clear of such clauses.

LB is needed because of Shaw's fitness concerns. He cannot play PL and CL, looks like a bigger priority than CB to me.

We should definitely try to get him. Shaw and him down the left and AWB and Williams down the right would be good full back options.

We can sell Dalot. Laird is a few years away from the first team despite what many say.

I agree. Signing Reguilon would be a bigger defensive upgrade than getting someone like Badiashile this summer.

That Sevilla game probably opened Ole's eyes.

Very good player, makes so much sense. Shaw and Reguilon on the left, Wan Bissaka and Williams on the right.

He would mess my plan to get Shaw in fantasy premier league. In other words, no thanks.

I consider signing an LB a higher priority than CB. Having an attacking outlet in an LB also allows Rashford to have more space to attack. Shaw has done brilliantly since the restart but his fitness can't be relied upon.

At this price, Reguilon seems like a no-brainer considering he will most likely have a higher resale value. I'm not opposed to a buy back in the range 40-45 million because its unlikely that Madrid would spend it given Mendy is doing so well for them. Having a buyback doesn't make us a smaller club. Not sure why so many egos are hurt. Juve had Morata scoring for them in the CL final.

Spending £30m on a 19 year old Cb when we have Tuanzebe and Mengi does not seem like good business. If we are signing a CB, he has to be established. We have too many CB that would be similar level to Baiashile in Bailly, Mengi and tuanzebe. Only thing is he is left footed.

That Sevilla game probably opened Ole's eyes.

I think Ole though Brandon can do a job but not only does he impact us defensively, we lose the attacking cohesion without a left footed player.

If we can get Van de Beek and this guy for 60-65m combined then that would be fantastic business for the club. I like Shaw but he gets injured way too much and when he's out we suffer massively. Having a serious back up for him or maybe he's better who knows can only be good. Williams needs to move on to the right as his left foot is for standing on.

He was the highest rated LB in Spain by whoscored this past season

Also seems like he was, along with Mendy, the consensus best LB in the league by most La Liga watchers from what I've heard

Yeah this is very true and Cooper did suggest yesterday we are still interested in a full back so maybe Ole has genuine concerns there too

At the price being mentioned, seems like an east choice. No way should we accept a buy back clause though.
