Sergio Ramos

Gonna go down as one of the best to ever do it in his era and rightly so. Kinda guy you love if hes on your team but if not just straight up cnuty.

When the dust settles, he will forever be known as a lethal winner. That's all the matters doesn't it?

He is a c*nt for sure but everyone would love to have him in the team.

Up there with Rio? He's a bigger winner than Rio ever was IMO. Rio was arguably a better defender but Ramos is the complete package.

I'd say Ramos' titles are better. He's become a great defender over the last couple of years actually - But if we are judging them as defender, then Rio has performed steadily. All Ramos' red cards adds up too. Overall they're not far from each other I'd say.

and his latest stunt against Mane just proves it all. Would vidic do this, feck no!!! guy will be remembered by so many as a cheating piece of shite rather than the brilliant defender he could have been.

Take Puyol, both won arguably the same but when you say the name Puyol I feel pashion. When I hear Ramos I see red card, diving and a cheat.

Vidic? Really?? Vidic can't be compared to Ramos, look what Vidic won and ehat Ramos has won at 29 years old.

Puyol can be compared to Ramos, and now Ramos has surpassed him also win one more UCL won.

The fall might not have been deliberate, but him holding his arm so tight and ringing it in while falling looked deliberate to me. That being said, stuff like this goes on all the time, it's the fact Salah's arm got dislocated is why there's such an issue, which I really doubt he thought he'd do.

Guys like Ramos, Suarez and Van Bommel are the worst type of players since they are dirty players but, as soon as someone retaliates against them they will dive and exaggerate contact. He showed the full repertoire this final.

He was really good i thought. Very impressive player, but his antics makes him an idiot. An idiot with a lot of medals

Again, I find awkward so many posters are taking this incident in isolation... at exactly crunch time, again, with the game still in balance and maybe swinging in the opposite way thanks to the brilliance of the main archrival... enter the patented hitman and do the job? No no no, it was a perfectly executed but casual judo-lever arm take. In isolation and on Mars, without any context aka sociopathically speaking, just a contact.

If he captains Spain to the World Cup, he should go down as possibly the goat defender and captain. People are letting their subjective views cloud their judgment. This lad is incredible. An absolute winner.

He probably already is to be fair

If United had more players like Ramos we'd win more trophies.

Yeah I agree. He is undoubtedly the greatest defender I’ve ever seen (about the last 20 years of football). Not as a pure defender, but actually as an all round player.

Messi and Ronaldo would always be your first picks if you had to make a team from the last 20 years. But even so, this player may actually rival them in years to come.

His trophy haul has everything
First name on the team sheet as captain

Superb tonight. The hullabaloo surrounding the Salah challenge is fecking ridiculous. Unfortunate and nothing more

Yeah he surely had the best of intentions while trapping Salah's arm while going down

99 out 100 player won't get injured by that kind challenge. Ramos intention was just to bring Salah down , Salah was unlucky.

Salah also had his arm interlocked with Ramos before the initial fall. It was an unfortunate incident but not a premeditated judo throw. Ridiculous the stick he's getting.

Might have something to do with him having worked hard to achieve a reputation as a massive cnut over the last 15 years

Arguably best CB/captain of all time?

Always turns up in big games and 4 European cups in 5 years.

Hilarious to think posters never wanted him here when he was linked.

So he's getting stick for what he has may or may have not done in the past rather than what he done last night? He's no angel that's for sure, so i can live with that. But he did nothing wrong last night. Salah initiated the contact and the outcome was unfortunate. Nothing more.

Hilarious any Liverpool fan calling him a cheat etc.

They’d of w*nked themselves silly if Lovren did that to Ronaldo.

Ramos was tight on his man and fouled him. Liverpool’s best player went off injured.

I’m sure Zidane is really upset about that right now.

Nah, matches against Barcelona are pretty big and he usually doesnt last the 90 minutes against them. Also he gets way too many red cards.

I'm sure he thought 'I'll grab his arm and break it off here'.

Ffs. It was just an awkward fall. That's it.

I have seen a few forums on this, all blaming Ramos but for me it was simply unlucky. The way the night went for us. I dont believe for a second Ramos set out to injure Salah and the fact BT showed Ramos smiling with the linesman, nope, I still dont buy it. For me, our luck was out, and like Klopp said we had no good luck but plenty of bad luck. Thats it. In a nutshell.

Like you say, it was an awkward fall that resulted in an injury, Salah and many other players have had worse challenges over the season. I put it down to simply this, our luck was out, we lost. We move on.

Genuinely the best captain ever. Best centre back we’ve ever seen as well.

If Salah didn't fall awkwardly and injure himself, nobody would be chatting about that challenge. Anybody would think he stamped on him, you see them coming togethers like that all the time. He held his arm as he fell. Hope it's not too serious, be good to see him feature at the world cup
