Semi-Finals: Italy vs Spain | England vs Denmark

And he was calling us English hypocrites. Can you believe it? I really don't get all this hate. I could understand it if we was a successful team and won everything, but we don't.
Denmark was a bit of a darling for the neutrals Id say, with what happened with Erikssen. Though perhaps a lot of people dislike you lot. I don't mind England really. You have shit weather and shit food. We're like brothers.

The better team lost tonight to a team of diving rats.

Hopefully Italy win 1-0 in the final with a clearly offside goal or dodgy penalty against yous.

England were by far the best team. Denmark stopped attacking very early in the game.

Monday off and you fecked it up, Monday off any you fecked it up

I want the final to end 1-0 to England, with sancho scoring from an offside position, after being given the ball by a freekick won from a dive by Kane, in the 4th minute of 2 minutes added on time in the second half.

I'll never need to buy salt for me chips again.

*Clears throat* Busquets vs Inter, Capdevilla vs Portugal, surrounding the referee to get RVP sent off in the CL, and the playacting that manufactured the Swiss players’ red card in this tournament. Take your stones back to your glass house and go cry there.

You are mentioning doubtful plays in best case scenario (aside from disgusting Busquets). I have seen a bunch of important decisions waaaay worse than that, for example just in NT championships in the last 30 years:
- 1996: EC QFs... 2 legal goals disallowed against England (lost on pens).
- 1994: WC QFs... minute 90, Tassotti breaks Luis Enrique's nose in the area... Baggio scores in the counter (2-1). Tassotti was later sanctioned 8 games due to the extreme violence shown. First (and unique) time in history that FIFA did this in a WC.
- 2002: WC QFs... 2 legal goals disallowed against South Korea and a never ending list of fouls, lost on pens. Italy was blatantly robbed before too.

I could make a bigger lists of wrong decisions (for example in WC 2010 our goal against Portugal is an offside close call, Paraguay committed a clear penalty that was not sanctioned, De Jong foul to Xabi Alonso in the final, etc.), but either way are difficult to call, only "one" during the game without VAR, etc.

At least 2002 was a bribe 100%. It is impossible to happen by random. Italy suffered the same in the previous round.

However... there were no VAR. VAR is designed specifically for cases like this.
It is difficult to explain that you give a penalty without any contact in a EC semifinal. You can be doubtful about the red against Switzerland (it is too harsh to me but it is a clear and dangerous foul so the red is not out of question), but you cannot have any doubt with that penalty, sorry. It is a blatant dive. There is no doubt. It makes no sense not to overturn the decision. Imagine that there is VAR and Lampard's goal against Germany is not conceded. What would you think?

This is like comparing tennis in 1980s with some wrong decisions vs using the hawk-eye and make a wrong decision either way. It is not comparable at all.

Too many posts to answer. I never claimed portuguese players don't dive. When I was active in this board I would criticize that behavior all the time. The same can't be said about the usual hypocrisy of English media and supporters . You telling me that if England had that penalty against them there wouldn't be incessant whining?

Already told that England was the best team and deserved to win in the end. To be honest if I had to bet in the final I would bet on England winning on ET.

Wouldn't you be better off spending your time organising a a gofundme so you can sign some players for next season?

Sure it’s not a pen. And their free kick?

Sterling does what Sterling does best, shocker. At least this time it benefited England and not City. England were much better and if not for Southgate being the coward that he is it should've ended 3-1 or 4-1 towards the end when 10 minutes to go when he instructed players to look for the corner flag.

Anyways, after being cheated decade after decade by the Portuguese and Germans, it's time for England to enjoy some of those ref decision for once.

The amount of luck in game and in getting a draw of the century with shit teams and still scraping through because of own goals and a dodgy pen.

If england can't win it now then disband the national team and try out a british team with england, scotland, wales and northern ireland.
They had tried to assemble a british team at Olympic but still failed miserably.

As interesting as I’m sure this is, surely you’ve got better things to be doing with your time?

We've not been in a major final for 55 years. Most of us have never even seen us play in a final, and you get salty cnuts on here trying to dismiss what we have achieved.

People are only pointing out that you all go around pretending your the dogs bollocks after playing all major teams off the pitch whilst the reality is that england have:
1. Got the best draw of all the countries not only in the group stage but in the knockouts till the final.
2. Home advantage
3. Scrapping through against weak teams
4. Getting gifted own goals and dodgy pens

Yes your in the final, enjoy it :)

Where has he been this Euro ? Where was he against Villareal ? He’s been largely awful for 6 months or more. Glad you’ve got more faith than I have because Rashford is no kid anymore, he’s an experienced footballer and if he’s to reach the heights of a genuinely great player, for club and country, then he needs to get his skates on.

He is a good - perhaps very good on occasions - player but that’s nothing like good enough for international level and I’d argue it isn’t good for a club who’s benchmark should be excellence on a more consistent level than Rashford seems capable of.

He is playing through injury, do you have trouble reading. He is not going to be chosen for England when there is a wealth of choices of fully fit players to choose from. He was one of Southgate's first choice pick when fit. As for villareal, he was on the same pitch as the rest of the players. The goal came from his deflected shot that went to Cavani btw.

It is not faith, just a fact that he is a top player, and no he has not been awful, he has not been at his best for the past few months, but the same can be said for a few of our other players as well. He has shown he can perform, and he is going nowhere. And if England selection is your criteria, then I guess Grealish and Sancho are just as bad by your logic.

How such a pathetic penalty can decide a semi-final of a major international tournament in the age of VAR beggars belief. Denmark weren't up to much anymore at that point but I never like seeing a nation being gifted the match. That's exactly what happened.

England were miles better from the second half onwards. Wasn’t a pen - don’t think it was a blatant dive but sometimes you get that. Denmark losing Christensen and Delaney to injury was a big blow and then 10 men in extra time - but England at home were too strong. Italy is a big jump and based on the first half England’s midfield will seriously struggle - Henderson needs to start in my opinion. Sancho for Saka too but we know Gareth won’t do that.

I hope England cheat their way to a penalty in the 90th minute with the game at 0-0. Kane steps up, hits the bar and the rebound goes all the way down the other side of the pitch on into Pickford's net. Then Marco Tardelli runs across the pitch celebrating.

Haha

I was just hoping that in the 96th minute of normal game time, the Italians run up the other end of the pitch only to be pursued by Sterling who looks like hes clipped the player and as last man hes shown a straight red and a penalty awarded to Italy. Up steps the Italian player and smashes it low and hard...only for Pickford to save it...ref blows his whistle penalty to be retaken Kanes foot infringed the box...this time the Italian player chips the ball and Pickford gets a hand to it sending the ball looping upwards...the English players celebrate and look forward to extra time...but the ref blows the whistle unbeknown to the players the ball came back down and crossed the line...Italy are Euro 2021 champs...

Salt I think you're just so desperate for any success that you cannot accept you were given the final on a plate. Just like the whole tournament playing at home

Bit sad.

Ruined what has perhaps been the best officiated tournament ever. A travesty, they were conned by a cheat and var should rectify it

Barcelona should hire you to fact check their wage bill.

Of course we're desperate for success, we've been waiting our entire lives  :wenger: some bizarre folk on here.

You must be at least a little bit active, some lunatic made you a scout.

I don't mind England either although we have better weather and food. I'm usually always against Spain and Italy

Why are England fans not allowed to be happy and celebrate our team finally getting to a final?

The salt is astonishing, we’ve not won anything in most of our lifetimes !!

So had city until a sheik came along and poured an entire nations finances behind them. Clearly all there success is tainted.

I don't mind England either although we have better weather and food. I'm usually always against Spain and Italy

Yet came into a thread where obviously a bunch of England fans would be happy after getting to a final for the first time in nearly 60 years to criticise and call us all hypocrites. Okay mate.

You must be at least a little bit active, some lunatic made you a scout.
Must have been the same lunatic that promoted you. Calm down and enjoy the final.

Just wondering if it's worth Henderson starting on Sunday. Phillips and Rice were great in phases but in others struggled.

The back line is another question. 5 or 4? Then who plays with Sterling and Kane?

Maguire, Shaw and Sterling all deserve a shout for player of the tournament. Shaw has been so good since coming in.

Wow go to bed you sad bitter fool.
Haha

Bitter about what?

Your captain is a cheat, as is your best player...both cheated by diving. Hopefully yous get cheated by the Italians on Sunday so we can all laugh at your salty tears

And who have italy played? Belgium? They scrapped past spain who struggled against Croatia. Is it our fault Czech Republic beat the Netherlands or Spain couldn't win thier group.

This is just absolute nonsense. Most English fans here have already said that it was a dive.
