Sack Fergie
Total pipedream, I know. It won't happen, as Fergie would sell Ronaldo for 5m, and Lennon would cost us 20m, probably.

But there's absolutely no way in hell Ronnie will finish his career here, and it's just as unlikely that he'll see out his entire contract here. With how unhappy he is with the club, his performance on the pitch will be even MORE inconsistant and off the pitch he'll just be getting more death threats that will make him even MORE emotionally unstable. I'm not saying put the players interests before ours and give him a break and sell him, not at all. I'm saying SELL him, and BUY a great, future english star like Lennon.

Why not sell him now and sign Lennon, before he turns out to be a great winger, where his price will inflate more than it likely already is?

maybe I'm putting too much stock in lennon after his world cup performance, but I think it would be a wiser option for this season, and in the future, for all parties. Except Tottenham, of course

I think Ronaldo is potentially far better myself
Lennon has benefitted initially from being an unknown quantity, but he could easily end up being just another winger
Ronaldo is undoubtedly very special, and once he learns to grow up a bit (he's at the right club), cut out the diving and try and take better options with the ball, he could be unreal
The really good things he does have in his game few can learn

No way!

Ronaldo is the most frustrating player I have ever seen......from absolute brilliance to shit in the blink of an eye. Thing is that I don't recall seeing a footballer with much more ability than him. I cling on to the hope that the next game will be the one where he explodes into the world class performer we know he can be! Ronaldinho was in his mid 20's before he started being consistant and I can see Ronaldo being just as good, if/when his brains start dictating what his feet do.

I dont think Ronaldo will ever snap out of his style. He's been born and raised into that style of playing. His erratic, inconsistant style would be godly in Spain. He belongs there. He wouldnt be considered frustrating there, I don't think

I agree
Ronaldo has had plenty of time to improve and he's thrown it back in our faces, if we could swap him for Lennon I bet Fergie would do it in a flash

but no-one wants him

Seriously were the feck has this come from we have better things to do in the transfer market that talk about this shit!!!!!!

And if he ever did start playing with a real level of consistency, which would obviously be noticed by other clubs, he'd be out the door so fast that it'd create a small sonic boom.

It's a lose-lose situation.

no way in a thousand years, lennon has a fraction of ronnys talent, as will be shown over next season

Lennon is not even a 5th as good as Ronaldo. that's a daft post

That it is. Ronaldo is a much better player than Lennon. If we didn't have Ronny, Lennon would be a good prospect for that position though.

Why do people expect players to hit their peak, and stay at it by the time they hit 21?:wenger:

because they know feck all about football and expect all players to mature at the same age as Rooney.

Rooney? Mature?

Rooney has some SERIOUS maturity issues, but the point is, he shows SIGNS of maturing. He's got to control his anger and emotions.

Ronaldo shows NO sign of maturing at all. That's the POINT. Torres is a young player and though perhaps not the most mature, he constantly shows SIGNS of it. Robinho shows SIGNS of it.

I cant think of many times (if any) where Ronaldo, while wearing the United shirt, showed any signs of it.

I think he wanted out before any of the world cup incidents....unfortunately for him, Real and Barca don't seem that arsed....

No, obviously not

Its a shame United never shown any interest in Gerrard at the time or else he would have been well away from shitty Anfield.

Interesting, doesnt that mean that ronaldo can change his mind as well ?

He can, but it's a widely shared view that Ronaldo was always going to look to move to Spain at some point in the not too distant future.

This summer's happenings have only strengthened that

Rooney is a very mature footballer in that he plays for the team. He is immature as a person because he loses control of his emotions. Ronaldo is immature as a footballer because he wants to show off on the pitch. There are different types of maturity.

My dream is that Fergie has told Ronaldo that the next few months could be the most crucial of his career. If he puts his head down and plays for United rather than himself he will be welcomed back with open arms. United fans will protect/support him in the same way we did Cantona, Beckham and Keane. He has a great opportunity to grow as a person and as a player.

That's not what RVN thinks.....

If you heard him at the press conference then you would know better.. The only players that think Liverpool are great are the ones that actually supported them as a kid. Don't expect Alonso to be calling you the greatest club in the world anytime soon!!

Lennon hasn't shown much, scored a reasonably impressive goal and another one no one ever remembers, especially me, and looked pretty pacey for England.

He's just one of those players you're allowed to vastly overrate because of his Englishness

For me, Ronaldo has all the potential in the world, he is a very important element of our squad, wasteful but so is Rooney, perhaps moreso, but we just have so much more tolerance for the latter, obviously though he's not one of the players you're allowed to overrate due to Englishness. If we have as much patience for Ronaldo as we have for Rooney then we'll likely have two of the best players in the world easy as you like in a few years time, but we'll turn on Ronaldo like rabid beasts in an instant, as the WC proved, so sadly he probably won't reach his full potential at United and move on, and we'll turn on him like rabid beasts for betraying us

But didn't Jermaine Pennant "support them in Europe" as a kid:lol:
He's in his mid 20's, when he was kid Liverpool weren't in Europe and were more concerned with competing for the "best match of the season" in their 7 goal thrillers against King Kev's Newcastle (one of which, incidentally, helped seal us another title)

He's said we've got the greatest fans..

Which is a good point
