True. He's got a HUGE gay following, though.
Anyway, when something goes to Beckham, the agruing is far more fierous than other players else. Beckham is quite special, as people either love him a lot or hate him hardly.
Still remember when the "flying boot" incident happens, some fans here said that they believe there was a big conflict between Becks and fergie, becks wanted Fergie public apologize to him, becks want to sue fergie, etc..... no, if we say they "belived" it, we should rather say they "want to believe" it. They wish that is true, so that they can get rid of the player they hate.
That's the same case now. Some people keen on this rumour (Real want to buy Beckham) very much and wish that Real really table out 40m today so that we can get rid of Beckham tomorrow. But unfortunately, this time they are going to get disappointied again.
For me as a supporter I only hope this rumour can settle down as quickly as possible so that we can concentrate on the remaining important matches of the season.

Mate, I think you've got the wrong end of the stick. The fact is people are just expressing their opinion on what we should do IF this offer ever came about. People are not asking for him to be sold at any price etc. or want to force him out of the club. Let's face it though. He dragged out his contract negotiations for so long and only signed a 3 year contract in the end. It was taking the piss. You can sit there and talk about commitment and stuff like that but it does seem he wants to go elsewhere in the future. That's fine, but he can feck off right now if he thinks he can walk away on a free. Take £40m if it offered.
for anything above £30m...sell becks and get young players.

Sell Becks if we get 35m, sell giggs if we get 20...Buy Quaresma and Joaquin for about 20m together and spend the rest on others. Whatever you might say about their loyalty, they are just not worth turning down that kind of money.

Just need to point out to everyone that Joaquin's contract runs out this summer. So we can get him for free and beat Madrid to his signature, as they cannot guarantee him a place. In fact even if he didn't work out we could sell him for millions the following season. It makes good business seen as the PLC look like they don't want to buy before we sell. In fact I'd get him in before selling Becks/Giggs to see how they react to the competition.

If Becks goes, he goes. We do need the money - we have averaged £15m a season on new players the last few years and truth is, it hasn't been enough when Real are so obviously that far ahead of us.
In the worst possible case, we may need a striker, midfielder, goalie and winger. That's as much as a £60m outlay. Incoming would be £35m if we're lucky.
