Sekou Kone

It's his languid style and movements.

First time I watched him play last night and he wasn’t remotely like Pogba (other than being black and a central midfielder) He didn’t dwell on the ball to try and outmuscle his marker, never once tried to beat someone by lobbing the ball over anyone’s head and - most different of all - made a bunch of aggressive, well timed slide tackles. He also seemed to have good idea of where to position himself defensively. This meant that, even though he didn’t have a great game, we looked a hell of lot harder to score against before he got injured.

Pogba was an 8, who fancied himself as a 10. This lad is a well rounded number 6. They play the game very differently. Don’t get the similarity at all.

A lot of potential, keep him in u21 for at least the rest of this season.

Just let him get used to English/European football.

I didn't say he'd definitely not make it here. Just that the small sample size isn't impressive.
Maybe it’s not worth commenting yet because the sample size is small? Just a thought. Let the guy settle into a new country, new playing levels etc, he may or may not make it but let’s give him time

Shall we not bother commenting on how good he looks as well then? He will get his time and opportunity here regardless.

He’s incredibly young and green. What is the point of saying he will/ won’t make it when a blind man could see he’s not even found his feet yet and is clearly still adjusting to the task at hand?

Just let him develop in peace.

Looks promising. A few mistakes in those highlights (I didn't see the game to see his full involvement), but you can see he's got technical ability, composure and isn't scared of a challenge. Definitely has something to work with, but we're a way off talking about first team appearances yet.

Looks similar to Mainoo for me. Looked to have and want to spread the ball around with passing more from highlights before he signed, but from what he's done so far looks to have good feet able to run the ball and win it from the opposition.

I think we might see him this season.
Agree. People say it's only 40 minutes, but I saw something special in him. He's different from any of our other youth midfielders, as he's comfortable on the ball, always demanding it, and quite fast over the first 5–10 yards. What I saw from him already surpasses most of our current CMs in the U21 and academy. He just needs time to adapt, and I think he'll get some minutes with the first team this season.

Yeah, I'm just expecting a few appearances, maybe towards the tail end of the season.

Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall at Spurs are the same age as Koné, and they've already played over 500 and 300 minutes respectively this season, for their first team. I get that Koné was playing in Mali before, but I still think it's realistic expect him to make his first team debut for us this season.

I thought Gore had all those traits you have mentioned.
