Sekou Kone

Jesus this forum. So now Mainoo is no good and should be sold. Replaced by another kid who played few games for youth team…till he has second season.

I remember Giggs bursting onto the scene in early 90s. In 94 incredible…in 95 this place would have sold to Blackburn and replace with Roy Wegerley.

Mainoo is outstanding young player. Perfectly normal for second season. Normal for young player to struggle with intensity. He 19 YEARS OLD. Sell him now and regret it when he 24. Or just have some bloody patience

Utterly absurd, a lot of the talk around Garnacho and Mainoo has been weird and nonsensical considering they are, by far, our two brightest young talents and that is a value that United is all about. They have contributed numerous great moments and great games in their short time in the first team already and are teenagers (or barely out of teens in Garnacho's case) - they are also among the best in their age group at their position.

Our plight has turned some of our fans into weird rabid animals, I get being worked up about a lot of different tings and even different players, but Garnacho and Mainoo are what United is about, we should be surrounding them with talented, experienced leaders to take pressure off them and help them to develop properly, not selling them at the first opportunity. What makes it weirder, is the desire to replace them with a less proven player who will be wanted on the scrap heap even sooner.

We have nothing to win or lose in the PL this season. It would be a good time to give players like Kone, Moorhouse, Biancheri, Heaven some playing time and experience in the PL

From the technical and tactical side, Koné looks like he can play at PL level already to me. That said, the physical side is definitely short, so perhaps a brief cameo at best for him I’d say. He’s a player I have real hope for though, and if this injury crisis occurred maybe 10 months later, I’d say he might well be ready to have come in and made a real claim for the vacated midfield spots.

I agree that it's perhaps come a little early for him. I think his kind of profile is what we need in there though, especially in this sort of match where Spurs are blessed with mobility in their midfield. Have a feeling we will get killed in there if Casemiro starts.

He’s exactly the sort of player we need in the team, and I’ve been saying - I feel if we manage him correctly then he will be the most important business we did last summer. But that is why it’s important we don’t feck this up.

I think United fans simply have lost the art of being patient after how much craps are being served recently, on and off the pitch, but Kone is exact a textbook case of needing patience here. You can clearly see from his first game until now that he needs time to adapt to the speed and the way football is played in England, and he can progress quickly on that front and getting better with U21s minutes. I think next season is when we can start thinking of first team integration and minutes for him.

He looks a future star to me.
