Why are we not prioritizing CDM, even be it Longstaff?

now that we have signed Maguire Axel will have limited chances this year. I wouldn't mind if we made a deal where we get Longstaff and the loan Axel for a year

It would have been nice to get him and blood him in as the Matic replacement. Still, if not this summer, we’ll probably be in for him next summer when Newcastle get relegated.
Having seen us have to pay 80 million for Maguire after a few good seasons I really want this signing now! With AWB, Maguire and possibly sancho next season that’s a united style team again. I think we are actually doing good business this summer but not getting Longstaff would be missing a trick provided the fee isn’t crazy. He’s got massive potential.

Yeah he had an interception and an assist for the first goal. But also it’s not a full strength team. If we sign Dybala he might get help from an extra man in the middle and the back line is going to be even more solid with Maguire.

If the Scouts and the coaching staff are in unison then we should make a concerted effort to get this deal over the line. Matic is gonna prove to be an even bigger liability as the season goes on and we will struggle to control games even against midtable teams.
There's absolutely no need to get both Dybala and Fernandes when we've got a fantastic talent like Gomes already at the club and needing games. Longstaff and either Dybala or Fernandes would be better for the stability and balance of the team.

I'd be okay with us paying £50m if we were promised never to see Matic again.
Throw someone in as a loan for the season if he’s as good as we are led to believe
One for next year I think, same as Sancho. One more year of Matic and Lingard is hopefully all we'll have to endure.

No we can’t. Matic is shot to pieces and it’s not McToms best position imo. I’d rather Tuanzebe got a chance at DM rather than Matic.
An average AC Milan ripped our central midfield to pieces, a midfield consisting of Matic and McTominay.They don't work as a pair i'm afraid.

Think the Dybala/Lukaku swap will be the last of our business in terms of incomings. Not sure this is happening but £50m is steep for someone with as little experience as him. If Newcastle are relegated he may be available at a cut-price with a full season in the PL under his belt. Will be keeping an eye on him this season.

We can raise some cash by selling Rojo darmian. He ain't going to cost any lesser next season so he will be cheapest this season. This attitude will ruin our season with the state of midfield we are in.

You can sell players till foreign window is open. Also you can come out with a payment plan to strech it across years. There are enough way to do it if we have the ambition to do it.
As per Steve Bruce, we are a long way from staffing Sean. Mcginn from Aston Villa looks like a player that would offer bench strength. Wouldn't be a bad shout for next summer.

The payment plan isn’t dependent on us. It’s up to the selling team. For example Lille accepted a 5 year payment plan. Leicester didn’t.
We got enough mediocrity as it is in this squad. Let’s not add more to it.
