Schmeichel: One player is only here to promote his personal brand

You just know that some sections of our fanbase will now say he took his chance today to stay at the club. Now he can be shit for another 10 games until the same questions come up again. We really need to move him on.

I don’t think that section of fans exists.

But he's so young, and a wonderful human being...

He should have next season to prove himself.

So he can moralise about a specific player but then he says the Glazers are very proud of owning Manchester United and it's best to go with them forward and just restructure the club to start running it as a football club.

Pathetic.

Peter Schmeichel, global ambassador. All those ambassadors will toe that line to collect the cheques.

The vast majority of the players probably love the Glazers too. They've been paid handsomely by them for mediocrity over the last 5 or so years.

One former legend is chatting absolute shite in the news to promote his post-football career.

Maybe he should go knock on Mansour's door.

He could have said nothing and not looked a twat. Regarding the players, I doubt those who are ambitious are pleased in the slightest, but of course, we've spent terribly since SAF retired, and here and there since we actually sold Ronaldo. But after Fergie stopped running things the money we have spent, yes, there are doubtless happy players who got paid more than double what anyone else would have given them, and agents, and other clubs.

One of the most annoying things when people say "they've spent money". If you ignore the incredible amount that has been spent on servicing debt, which still stands at hundreds of millions of pounds, the way funds have been mismanaged and made the club look small is incredible. So of course you've got average players delighted to be paid like super stars.

He's always been a wanker.

Loved him as a player, obviously, but his opinions stink & have for a while.

Seeing him celebrate like he’d won the World Cup when City beat us at Maine Road hurt.
