Berge is very close to Sheffield United. Genk have refused a 20 million € bid, but they are still working on the deal. Genk would like to keep him until the end of the season.

Come to think of it, he would have been such a sensible buy, a player directly replacing Matic in current scenario with huge potential to improve, directly competing with McTominay for the position going forward, available for 20 m. This is the kind of sensible buys we simply don't do nowadays.

Big enough a talent for Klopp to approach him after their CL game against Genk, telling him he´s very interesting player. And he sure is. There are 3 really talented Norwegian players at the moment, Ødegaard and Haaland being the other two.
Because we need to recruit and he is solid profile, not too expensive, doable this window and reinforce a part of the team we need.
A defensive midfielder like Berge and a creative one. + A right forward.
We'd look totally different with some additions and our injured players back on track.
