The most clinical striker in Europe?

Already on 23 goals for the season, in 22 starts, and is just 3 goals away from his record in La Liga.

Say what you want about how much that is down to how good Barcelona have been this season, but he's made most of the goals for himself with unerring finishing technique from anywhere in the box and brilliant reactions to pick up the pieces time after time.

Still apparently quite likely to be moving on in the summer because there's some contract negotiating problems, any idea where he might go?

It'd be a massive coup if City got him.

Still one of the biggest cnut in football.

Would fit City as they are full of cnut´s.

We should get him if we can!

Is an amazing player. Probably the best striker when in form, ahead of the likes of torres and drogba for me. He's got it all.. Pace finishing unpredictable (which he uses to his advantage) strong. Three generally a lot of talk that he's a tough character to handle in the dressing but on he pitch he always works extremely hard for the team. He'll go down as one of the best strikers of this generatioN. Even off colour he'll get you goals. Would start for every single team in world football, club or country. If that's not what makes you absolutely top notch don't know what does .

He's bloody brilliant. People make the mistake of writing players off too quickly when they've been out injured for a period. We've got a great player in Berbatov, and he'll get better and hopefully make a real lasting impact here at OT. But all summer long I was just hoping Fergie might take an interest in Eto'o. Even now, if we could swap them... I would. That type of striker isn't available very often - for instance no feckers gunna sign him from Barca now - but last summer he was. Guardiola is doing a cracking job with Barca, but he got lucky that he still has this lad. I can only assume he didn't want to go anywhere, because I can't believe no-one was willing to pay whatever it took to sign him

I wouldn't hesitate to call him the best striker in the world right now

berbatov has a long long Way to be compAred to eto'o

When will people learn...you cannot compare a Centre Forward...and a Supporting Striker...

Two different players. Its like comparing a Midfielder to a Centre back. Just doesn't work because you look for different qualities in the two players.

I've been saying that the berb isn't a centre forward for ages now but most think he was bought to play that role:wenger: the reason we're struggling for goals is due to us not having one.

No-one was comparing. I just had a preference for which of the two I'd rather we signed in the summer

But we got ourselves a great player who looks to finally be settling in properly now, so I'm not complaining. Just think we missed a trick

We're top of the league this season without one, and won the league last season without one.

I'd say we've got a system that works quite alright now, no need to change that and bring in a 'centre forward', no guarantee it would work.

Why's that?

Last season he scored 16 goals in 18 league games, they obviously knew he was still a top quality player.

They weren't selling him for sporting reasons, they were obviously wanting to sell him because of his supposed attitude problems, attitude problems which won't have just disappeared.

Ahem

Because Barca won't let him go anywhere

Some players have attitudes. Cantona and Keane had attitudes. It's how you manage them, and direct that attitude for the teams best. Eto'o clearly has the right type of 'troublesome' personality; someone like Ronaldinho doesn't. Throughout their row, only one was training properly, and performing on the pitch

You just assume that, when most of the reports from Spain say the opposite. Eto'o has already said he's not happy with how the contract negotiations are going, and if he wants to he'll force that move.

Guardiola said Eto'o was the worst player in the team for training, he's already shown up late twice, he's already had a go at Guardiola during training and evidently it's not all that clear that he won't leave, and that he has the right type of personality.

Imagine if we got him...we would, without doubt, have the best attacking quartet the world has ever seen.

Adding Ronaldo to that, would make us the greatest attacking force the world has ever seen.

I haven't assumed it, Eto'o continued to score goals, and Ronaldinho was only turning up for training on a part time basis. It's frankly well documented

Much more well documented that your rumour that he's off anywhere soon. He aint going anywhere

you can. Vidic for eXample is much better than bosingwa.
Eto'o as I said would get into any team in the world. He's amongst the most devastating players in the gMe. Berbatov has some way to go to reach that level. Intact he's not even the best striker or support striker at our club. Rooney is

You cannot compare Vidic and Bosingwa.

Bosingwa is a better attacker, better at PLAYING RIGHT BACK than Vidic.

Seriously...think about it.

Bosingwa at Right back > Vidic at Right back.

Vidic at centre back > Bosingwa at Centre back...

Eto' as a striker > Berbatov as a striker

Berbatov as a supporting striker > Eto'o as a supporting striker

you get the message yet?

Yippee. The player wants to stay at Barca. He also wants, with his current contract running down, to be paid the salary of a top striker in the European game. Which is fair enough really, given he's a top striker in the European game. And there's not a chance Barca want rid of him, such is his form and the way they're playing with him in the team this season

Stop being a transfer muppet and lapping up any little rumour or tittle tattle. They'll give him a better contract, and he'll stay and continue to be one of if not the best strikers in Europe, in a Barca shirt

You cannot compare Vidic and Bosingwa.

Bosingwa is a better attacker, better at PLAYING RIGHT BACK than Vidic.

Seriously...think about it.

Of course you can, Vidic is a better centre back than Bosingwa is as a right back.

Back to thread. Eto'o is good striker, but totally cnut.

That's one possibility.

The other is that you could be wrong, and are just making yourself look stupid by acting as if you know what's going to happen, when you don't.

Not too good at insults, are you?

..........so, HsJ.....who's better, Zinedine Zidane or Titus Bramble?

No need for the character assassination man.

At least make it witty or something...

Of course you can, Vidic is a better centre back than Bosingwa is as a right back.

What the feck.

Can you not comprehend this simple idea?

You cannot say Vidic is better than Bosingwa unless he plays in the same position as him. A more suitable comparison is Bosingwa and Daniel Alves. Vidic and Terry. Rio and Vidic. Bosingwa and Brown.

The point is. Players in different positions have different attributes, and therefore comparing a, say, midfielders defensive capability to a defenders, is not a fair comparison.

Bosingwa offers more as an attacking full back. Alves Vs Bosingwa would be the obvious comparison, in which case you can, without any arguement offer statistics and attribute comparisons between the two.

So Bosingwa > Vidic at crossing, dribbling etc etc, Vidic > Bosingwa at heading, marking, reading the game etc etc...

Get it yet?

I get it, it's stupid though.

Vidic is a better player than Bosingwa.

I have a question. Why do football fans focus on players' behaviors off the pitch ? If a player is a cnut on the pitch then fair enough
ps: It's a genuine question and nothing sarcastic about it

I have a question. Why do football fans focus on players' behaviors off the pitch ? If a player is a cnut on the pitch then fair enough but off of it ......

It doesn't matter if they're cnuts in their personal lives, but if they're lazy in training and have arguments with the coach regularly it's entirely relevant.

Because generally. If your a cnut off the pitch, your a cnut on the pitch..

See Barton and the type.

How about this:

O Shea in 'net > Gomes in net
