Samuel Eto'o | Signs for Chelsea

Wonder how they will play him. Will they ever play with 2 strikers?

If he is half the player he was a few years ago he is our best striker and should be first choice upfront in the role he had for Barca.
Jose used him in a wider role at Inter (with huge success) so your guess is as giod as mine.

We could play with him and Lukaku, with Lukaku slightly ahead. This signing depends on whether hes still got it, and is clearly an emergency signing.

Indeed, but even at 32 he's a decent alternative to Rooney. That's if he hasn't declined too much.

What will you do with the army of AMs you have if you play them both?

Eto'o will have all the AM's behind him to do all the running, creating and so forth. Essentially he will be given the task of trying to poach as many goals as he can... and even if he has lost some of his pace I think he still has enough of an all round game to score quite a few goals for Chelsea.

As you say, with the providers that Chelsea have, he should be knocking them in left, right, and centre. Mind you, so should Shevchenko.

I am really looking forward to seeing Eto'o in the prem, even if it is for Chelsea and past his prime. He has been one of my favourite non-united strikers in the past decade, utterly ruthless. Don't see him being as deadly for Chavski though, so all will be well (I hope)...

can see us playing a regular AM trio of Hazard Oscar and Willian, with Lampard and Ramires behind, and Mata used as backup for cup games and rotation.

Or sell him to us :smirk:

POTY 2 years running and be treated like this. If I were Mata, I would send in a transfer request asap.

POTY in a different style under a different manager though. I do think he will stay another season with us though.

Shame for him, he should be playing games trying to break through to the first team in Spain for the WC and now may even struggle to make the squad.

He's not even made it into the latest Spain squad - dumped along with Torres because he is not "in the best form". Where does the humilation end? I'd be handing that transfer request in as quick as possible if I was in his shoes.

Eto'o was my favourite player of the Rijkaard Barcelona era. Fantastic player in his day.

He cant be any worse than our old man signing of Michael Owen a few years back ... I think Chelsea have pulled off a smart, albeit fortuitous, piece of business here.
