Sadio Mane | Performances

1 jammy win and 7 draws gets us to 69 points. May still be enough for 4th. :)
Well we have played four league games without him (Burnley away, United away, Swansea at home and most of Chelsea at home). Two draws and two defeats in that, but if you include the cup games it's three more defeats, a draw and another win I think.

I don't think we've won a league game without him.

I think it's a question of if you want to believe our poor run of form in January was due to his absence, or the fact that from the 27th of December to the 4th of February we played a total of 12 games (almost a game every 3 days). Let's not forget he played in that abysmal performance at Hull. The whole side looked jaded, & with only a paper-thin squad as back-up there was little rest for most of the key players. After tomorrow night's game our remaining fixtures will be weekends only, so fatigue shouldn't be a problem. Having said that though, if we fail to beat Bournemouth at Anfield tomorrow, maybe the 'Mane effect' might be more influential than some of us thought.

No one loves injuries. And probably even fewer care about Everton injuries as it's always a guaranteed three points regardless. :)

Edit: was meant to be a reply to your other mature post about rats.
The pub full of Liverpool fans on that video singing about Coleman obviously care enough.

Coutinho has had his one good game in 10 now though so hes due to go missing.
Nah, he's normally only off form for a month or two. Then rest of the season he's fire.

Mane is without doubt our most influential impact. Personally I'm hoping for the shop window effect to see us through. Origi, Coutinho (Barca) and perhaps even Studge will want to convince a new team to take them on. Can't do that without showing something first.

Don't think it will have any impact on their top four chances. They will qualify with or without him.

Bottom placed teams can be very, very dangerous during run ins. Write them off at your peril. I think Liverpool will suffer a lot without Mane. But that won't be too much of a problem for them because teams like United seem to have taken an oath to drop points no matter the misfortunes that befall their top four rivals this season. United has become so consistent at dropping points that the rest of the pack almost don't have any reason to worry about being caught by them at all.

His leg went one way, his body the other, I don't think that's a normal injury. It looked very bad.

Just seen that video......what a gang of feckers......cannot condone that at all. Couldn't even say it was just a bunch of young fellas being pricks without any conviction.

Would say that this is not the behaviour of the vast majority of reds.......not the ones I know personally or interact with online anyway.
Personally was gutted for Coleman, he was having a great season.

Wow that video was damning. :( Probably the same cnuts that do plane gestures too then bleat on about Hillsborough. Twats.

If thats true cartilage problem we won't see him until next season. Clop needs his arse kicking for not at least trying to get someone in during the window . I see he has acknowledged that yesterday

I remember when he was heavily linked with us the last summer we had Van Gaal. A majority of posters in the newbs said he wasn't good enough for us but the reality is that he's been a superb signing for Liverpool and he'd have been excellent for us too. Big blow for the scousers that Mane is out along with Lallana. If we had our act together this news would make me confident we'd secure that 4th place spot but our attack is unlucky/inept.

Phew just meniscus. As long as he's ready for pre season I'll take that.

He needs surgery and isn't expected to play again this season.

Thank feck it isnt an ACL. Would be highly unlikely he'd be the same player after that. As for the rest of the season, we've made our bed in terms of squad depth now we have to sleep in it.

Real blow for the Scousers, especially with Lallana out too. At least Coutinho seems to be coming back into form at the right time for them.

We need someone like Origi to step up but the lack of pace in the side is concerning.

I think many fans wanted a "sexier" signing, and not somebody from Southampton. Realistically we should have signed both Mkhi and Mane. He's become 1 of the best attacking players in the league IMO, and showed that potential at Southampton.

Terrible luck on a very good player. Wish we had him but if there was ever a good time for Liverpool to miss him, now is it.

Sad to hear about the injury. Was playing really really well. Does not seem to depend on how his team mates perform and can do everything himself. The teams performance jumps one level up whenever he is there.

We have mata jones smalling, city have jesus and gundogan, liv now have mane and lallana now the top 4 race is equal and exiting

Will Sturridge come back, or will Klopp solely use Origi? What say you, scousers?
Not certain but sure he will play a role. Ordinarily that would be exciting but his season hasn't happened at all. That said, he'll likely be playing for a transfer so may be very useful.

Stats on the BBC report saying Liverpool haven't won any of the league games which Mane missed. Blimey.
It's true. The sizeable caveat to that is that it was mainly in January when the whole squad appeared absent mentally and physically.

I think he will tomorrow. I expect us to go for a front two with both Sturridge and Origi starting.

I suppose the other option is to put Moreno in.

There goes our season, I think! Coutinho is also ill for this weekend.

I don't know, but Sturridge has been disappointing this season. He has lost that extra bit of pace that gets him into situations to score, and then the last time I saw him he couldn't even finish when given the chance. Very sad for someone who was so exciting and dangerous.
