Ruud van Nistelrooy | Leicester Manager

Ruud is just making sure United don't go down. Sorry foxes.
You were never going to.
Leicester were abject tonight. Ruud gone by next week I reckon.
That's the right word. I've rarely seen such a tragic performance. This team doesn't deserve to be in the PL but, my word, Ruud is comfortably one of the worst managers to ever coach at our club, and I still remember Peter Taylor and Ian Holloway.

I'd be amazed if he's not gone this week.

Can you actually afford to pay Ruud off at the moment?

Reckon they’ll roll the dice and sack him after that. It was a doomed job to begin with though, can’t see how that squad stays up (though you’d expect to see a bit more fight).

Relegation is completely different. You’re brought in with the sole goal of keeping the team up. Hence pragmatic managers like Dyche, Allardyce, and Moyes are commonly brought in with little expectancy of them staying long term.

Van Nistelrooy might be different in that regard, but his job is quite literally to scrape the bottom of the barrel for points, with no regard for next year.

My biggest issue is he is coming across to me as a coward, either he doesn't want to deal with unhappy senior pros or is concerned with upsetting Ruskin, no way he thinks he needs 2 CB and 2 DM on the bench instead of having more attacking options.

We have a young winger/striker who has scored more goals at U21 level than most and we are persevering with Ayew and Bobby Reid who aren't producing.

Grow some balls and if we are going to go down do so swinging it's not like we can do much worse

Needs to be flexible. Can’t believe he’s persisting with the 4 at the back.
Nope I'd try something like

Okoli Coady Vestergaard

Coulibaly Ndidi Soumare Kristiansen

Bounonotte El Khannouss

Vardy
we can't keep doing the same crap week after week

No point in sacking him. No manager will keep them up.
Not having that. He's been an absolute (and predictable) disaster, and on course to become our worst manager ever, by some distance.

We will most certainly and deservedly go down, but there's a limit to incompetence and what fans can stomach.

Boot this hopeless clown out of the club.

It's unfair for Moyes to be lumped in with those two.

To be fair they should stick with him even if relegated. He’ll have a fair crack at getting them promoted again. I don’t think anyone would have saved them from relegation this season. There game play seems to have improved under Ruud but just not getting the luck they need to win games. Doesn’t help having a bad defence

Shows how big the gap is getting between the top 2 leagues. This Leicester side last year was probably the strongest in Championship history but they just look massively short of quality at this level.

With every game this is looking more of a terrible decision from both parties. Leicester needed someone more experienced in these situations, it wasn't really a good job for Ruud either.

Of course, there is a point in sacking him. No matter how bleak things look, Leicester still have to play Southampton, Ipswich and Wolves. It's difficult, but it's not all lost.

Bottom 4 pts/gd

Wolves 19/ -19
Leicester 17/ -27
Ipswich 17/ -34
Southampton 9 / -38

All they need is to stay ahead of Ipswich and get 3 more points than Wolves between now and the end of the season. They play each other 5th last game after that they have 4 games each. Which could have a big say if they can keep that gap to 2 pts.

Wolves last 4.
City
Brighton
Palace
Brentford

Leciester last 4
Southampton
Forest
Ipswich
Bournemouth

Very good chance that for those last 3 games for Wolves those teams will be on holiday mode and cruising towards the end of the season. So they could very easily win 3 out of 4.

Leicester have 2 of the bottom 3 and even if they are already gone, sometimes teams just give the last few games as a free hit and pick up some weird results.

It's not impossible, I have a lot of respect for Ruud, but this was a bad move for both parties. They could still stay up if they made a change.

it was a great move for Ruud, not all his fault but he’s fecked it, he won’t manage in the Prem again

Nah, financially maybe, but it was a bit like Ole going to Cardiff. A poor squad in a terrible league position, no experience of being in that position and his style is just not pragmatic enough to get them out of there.

It's career suicide taking those jobs on, I can only think of Gus Poyet at Sunderland who was a relatively inexperienced manager who's gone into a club in that position and kept them up.

it's a high risk high reward role for an upcoming manager, I think it was a great shout taking it for Ruud and I totally see why he was interested, even if the squad is poor. I'm more surprised when relegation candidates decide to take a punt on such unexperienced managers

You have lower championship level players, what do you expect the guy to do?
He's not the one to blame, Rudkin needs to go before Ruud.
Some of the transfer dealings recently have been embarrassing.
