i certainly hope he keeps Ruud around in some capacity as the guy is a club legend and has brought a bit of joy back to United and the players
Amorim needs to start a fresh. He will be bringing in his own coaching staff. If he finds a place for Ruud, I feel it will be forced and potentially upset the way he and his team want to work.
Best to led Ruud move on and hopefully get himself a managerial job.
Aren't you effectively describing Fletcher's job here .I think Ruud can play the Mike Phelan job -- a lot of the administrative, bridging & some coaching job to help the transition for Ruben & Co -- especially when they want to hit the ground running.
Every one has no clue how big the club is until they get there. Ruud can help with that.
McKennaOur next manager after Amirom

I missed the 2nd half of yesterday’s game but in the first half we didn’t appear to have the acres of spaces between the lines like we did with ETH. Ruud isn’t going to be able to turn us in a crack unit but to my eye test we looked to play in a much better shape, play players in the right positions and have clear instructions on how they should be playing,We absolutely do though - Leicester had a higher xG than us today for example (although both teams were below 1), their reserve team put 2 past us in Ruud's first match in charge, we let PAOK have a couple of great chances, and were hanging on against Chelsea.
The idea that he came in and made us more solid is just wishful thinking, the only real difference is that we've scored the chances (and non chances) that we were missing under ETH.
Hopefully Amorim can get us more organised!
Who gives one feck about xG, we had 3 aG (Actual Goals) and that's what matters. We absolutely do though - Leicester had a higher xG than us today for example (although both teams were below 1), their reserve team put 2 past us in Ruud's first match in charge, we let PAOK have a couple of great chances, and were hanging on against Chelsea.

People who are interested in long term trends rather than just whether one game made them happy or sad.Who gives one feck about xG, we had 3 aG (Actual Goals) and that's what matters.
Nerds then.People who are interested in long term trends rather than just whether one game made them happy or sad.

Putting out the cones a la PhelanI think Ruud can play the Mike Phelan job -- a lot of the administrative, bridging & some coaching job to help the transition for Ruben & Co -- especially when they want to hit the ground running.

This. Hard to see why he'd be kept on. Just adds another person who has to be taught Amorims system.Love Ruud. I just don't see how he fits in with any meaningful position with Amorim coming in with his three assistant coaches. He's never met Ruud in his life, they probably play completely different brands of football and it's not like Amorim is going to ditch the people he trusts and been through the wars with for him. The only possible position/role I would have RvN in is already taken up by fletcher.
I still think he should leave. It was in our best interests for him to get good results whilst he was interim manager. It is now in our best interests for him to now leave the club. You said you couldn’t wait for Ruud to get out of the club ?!
Nerds then.
He is capable of being a manager elsewhere. Why would he become a head coach of U-21s? You have the likes of Lampard on the cusp on getting a job. Why can’t Ruud?I hope he takes charge of the under 21's. I have no confidence in the current coach. I also hope that the under 21's use the same system as the first team, makes transition easier
I meant until he found something else. He obviously loves United And would be a good way of being involved until something better comes alongHe is capable of being a manager elsewhere. If he doesn’t get the assistant role or some sort of coaching role under Ruben he isn’t staying. I think that clear. If Ruben says he is not part of the stuff he is outta here. I understand your point about staying till he gets something but it doesn’t work like that.I meant until he found something else. I think West Ham might be a good role cause he has some players there to play and maybe finish mid table. I wouldn’t touch the other three. His stock is high right now. He should be after a manager job elsewhere.
One of West Ham, Crystal Palace, Wolves, and Southampton will need a manager soon. The first 3 have decent teams to take over (in descending order).
Yeah but can he pop a balloonI think Ruud can play the Mike Phelan job -- a lot of the administrative, bridging & some coaching job to help the transition for Ruben & Co -- especially when they want to hit the ground running.
