We'd be fecked if all the top players were like that. We'd have team full of Wes Browns and Darron Gibsons in the next few years.

He would be a good addition no doubt. I've seen plenty of him. Maybe recently he's struggled but he is a very good footballer. A great header of the ball, a good range of passing from either feet. Basically he's Carrick but with fight, heading ability and goal scoring ability, better dribbler too.

And how many in the last few years have been of real first team quality? You don't win league titles with a team full of Wes Browns and John O'Shea's.

These players are valuable squad players but the vast majority of the top talent is bought in. the Scholes and Giggs era was a one off - no club has ever brought through so much top class talent in a short space of time before or since.

United haven't brought through any more top class players that Chelsea in the last few years - hence why money has been spent young players on Rooney, Hernandez, Smalling and the two brazilian twins.

If you think United's future success will be built mostly on youth team prospects you're dreaming. Most clubs are lucky to get one top player every five or six years.
