Rugby World Cup 2019 aka Squishy McSquish goes into a meltdown thread

Japan are amazing to watch but they don’t half pass the ball forward. They’re getting away with it, mind.

I think the mini half times at every scrum and lineout may end up saving South Africa here. Without those breaks they'd be dead on their feet already.

De Allende has been nothing short of magnificent for South Africa. He's saved them 4 or 5 times with massive hits and relentless jackling.

No I think that was the right call in fairness. De Allende needed to release the ball while he was on the floor. You see the Japanese ball carriers do it all the time - show you are making an effort to release it and the ref will let you away.

As soon as he crawled on his knee without releasing, he was playing the ball on the floor.

The James Lowe-style one? It probably could have been looked at again though. It's a courtesy that's been given to teams in every other game that Barnes is denying them.
