Rugby World Cup 2015 | Reminiscing Thread

Wow Wales might actually edge this. The Boks' kicking from open play has been dodgy right.

I know it's only half time but so much for this Southern Hemisphere dominance so many like to talk about.

The gap has definitely been closing over the past couple of years, it seems. Tonight's game between France and NZ should be fascinating.

Well really it's the All Blacks' dominance, and that's the hemisphere they are in. But I'd love it if France could stuff them, again.

Correct

Wales have done well though. SA are offering absolutely nothing going forward.

Not really. Southern Hemisphere have won 6/7 world cups. SA are probably the weakest Southern Hemisphere team with Wales being the strongest atm. The fact that it's so close just shows that the Southern Hemisphere are still clearly stronger.

Wales' discipline will let them down here. all the penalties are within kicking range.

Well, if you're going to call Wales the best NH team (disputable), you'd have to take into account how many of their huge players are missing and they're still hanging on in this tournament.

I'd say the Irish are the strongest for the north right. And I meant the past 4 years or so, not the history of world rugby etc. While it's clear that the southern hemisphere is still better overall, the gap is getting smaller every world cup in my opinion.

Of all the people to incorrectly tackle, 2.04m Eben Eztebeth isn't the one you want to do it on.

Wales are not the best northern team. Also they have a tonne of injuries.

I don't want to see Biggar's pre-kick routine anymore so I'm happy.

It was a good run considering all the injuries and setbacks

Wales' injuries were always to catch up, heroic effort all tournament from them.

Better team won on the day.. always felt the Welsh were punching above their weight for most of the game.

Great second half (all I saw) even more disappointed that England didn't go for the draw against the Taffs now, would have been enough to keep us part of the party.

From what I saw the best team won (unbelievable that Habana's still right in the middle there) but Wales can be extremely proud after all the problems they've had – they certainly showed us what it means to really want something!
