Rugby Union 23/24 Discussion

Wow, good man….wish I was organised enough for stuff like that :(

Bath by 7 is the handicap and I think that’s fair. Sale are in form though and I like Sanderson for big games….I think he inspires his team. Should be a great game.

My summer cut is due to start today so I desperately need to get down the field and run….think I’ve got a good window between 2-3pm so will get in front of the tele for it
Like you, I’ll be watching from the tv today. I feel pretty comfortable at the moment. high ball is always a concern, Gallagher is decent but the wingers might be two of the worst wingers in the prem when it comes to catching them. Ford will definitely look to test that.

Okay, not feeling so comfortable now

That penalty is pathetic. Is Muir supposed to have his eyes on the ball for the jump or who is purposely blocking him.

Sale are chucking away too many big opportunities here
They’ll get plenty more if Bath keep playing like this. Really poor execution in the last 10 minutes.

Score at HT feels about right.

Arguably Sale should be ahead….they butchered a few golden chances. Bath need to stop fecking up at set piece, and stop with the soft pens seeing as they’ll result in a lineout drive

Second half started the same as the first ended. Bath won’t win if they keep giving away so many pens. After only giving away 2 all game against Saracens, the last two games have been littered with them.

Curry is going to get a lot of attention of the bench, but there’s a lot of power to come off Baths bench.

What a try.

I think Bath need to make changes - I know they’ve just switched 8’s - if Sale actually finish their chances they’ll win this

Straight from a knock on. It’s really simple analysis, but it’s been littered with way too many mistakes from Bath. Even the kicking execution has been bad this half.

Russell causing a few with uncatchable hero-balls

I don’t mind him doing that on the opponents 22 rather than our half

I can’t see either of these teams touching Saints by the way.

Switched a bit now with the pens. I wouldn’t have been kicking for goal here with 15 to go.

If Saints turn up they’ll win. I’d give Sale a chance if they murdered them up front and got a lenient ref, but Saints multiphase game is too strong.

Sales subs have made them much worse in this (Curry aside). Lost their momentum

Looks like Russell’s back to being shite from the tee again, had the magic touch since the six nations. Everything going Bath’s way now though. Need to finish the job.

Looks to be done. Exciting, if error-strewn game. Enjoy twickers!

I still can't stand O'Keeffe's face.

Clerment Toulon on premiersport one if you’re bored shitless like I am

Rugby Union bound Joseph-Aukuso Sua'ali'i was sent off for this in the opening match of this year's State of Origin series. Fair to say whoever coaches him at the Waratahs next year as well as Joe Schmidt have some work to do on his tackle technique. Yes, there's a dip in the body height of Reece Walsh but that's an illegal attempted tackle.

Given how early this happened, it's a great argument against 20 minute red cards. I'm biased as a Queenslander but it looks Queensland fullback Reece Walsh got maimed.

Bath started the game with one big hit after the other and now they have a red card which probably ruins this final

Was it a certain red? Only saw a couple replays on the screen, didn’t look like obvious head contact. Felt like it could have been let go in a final and no one would have cared.

Bath had two bad bounces of the ball that could have ended in a try, Saints had one kick that bounced perfectly…when your lucks in…

Sam Underhill injuring two now just from hard tackles. He's a definitely up for this, fair play to Bath for making this a game.

Absolutely stonewall red.

Bath have done incredibly well but it looks like they’ll just come up short.

That was an insane final and Bath really did well to keep it tight till the end. Saints best team in the league though so good that they won

Were they? Finished level with bath on points and got outplayed by 14 men in the final. Leaving the red out of it, Bath had two kicks bounce badly when through for certain tries. Saints had one and it bounced perfectly for a try. Thats a 15 point swing on the bounce of a ball.

Think it’s a bit of a myth that they were the better team. Certainly the luckier today.

Well they basically threw that last game against Bath but otherwise they would have been top easily

Bath threw ‘thew’ the away game against them by putting out a second team and only ended up losing by six points.

Missed the game as I was doing the 3 peaks yesterday, I’ll watch it back in full at some stage.

How was the day overall?
