Rugby League Super League 2010

I'll mix it up and go with a KR win
Since i'm from East Hull I now like you.

How is the Hull Derby seen then to other fans? As many here believe this is one of the biggest games in rugby. Is that so or is that just a few biased fans opinion?

Personally, I love watching the Hull derby for the sheer intensity and fervour. I get the impression the two sides are more interested in beating each other than having any wider ambitions.

We see it in the "two bald men fighting over a comb" category. They sign players off each other, slag each other off in the HDM, get each others players suspended for biff. And all for what? To see who finishes 6th and becomes the pride of the dump that is Hull, famous for producing inbreds(FC fans) and an awful smell of raw fish around the place.

No offence, but I'm in a candid mood after watching United chuck away two points in the most retarded fashion possible!

As I called - KR have just about turned FC over, pretty comprehensively too.

Dobson has kicked FC to death!

I can't believe how truly average Hull are these days. Under John Kear they were a force to be reckoned with but now they are just one dimensional dross on high income.

They remind me of us under Cullen. They need to ship out Agar and find a coach of substance.

Erm thanks for that.

I work in the town centre not far from the KC stadium and all i saw when i left was a see of red and white around the town.

Nice to see how the derby is seen from other areas been pretty much just a football fan i don't see the same hatred / passion that many see from either side of the city. For me United v City or Ranger v Celtic are just that and I don't seem to see the same in the rugby.

I don't know, I don't see it being in the league of Wigan-Saints, but no reason why it couldn't be ahead of Leeds-Bradford

What a game, Wigan v Leeds. That was a controversial incident at the end, which for my money Leeds were lucky to get away with. Next week is Wire v Hudds and Wigan v HKR.

Well after all the hype and improvement from teams like Wire and Wigan, it looks like another Saints-Leeds final beckons.

IF we manage to overcome the Giants next week, we'll no doubt draw the short straw of one last visit to KR now that Saints have the clubcall :(

Yeah, it's hard to see Saints picking either Wigan or Leeds. You never know, the Pies might just slip up against Hull KR. Not that I'm holding my breath.

They can't pick Leeds anyway. Leeds will be at home in the semi. Which leaves us and Wigan or Huddersfield.

Would be sweet as feck though if we turned them over in the last ever fixture at KR especially with them hand picking us as

Then I woke up...

Fantastic match tonight

I think this brings Warrington right back into it, it will be tough for them and Wigan now, but presuming Saints pick Warrington, I think Wigan can beat Leeds, especially if Danny McGuire is injured and then they'll be even in terms of rest week with Wigan.

But it does look very good for Saints at the moment

Just saw that there was a huge turnout of 12,000 pie munchers at the DW tonight. Great when "the best fans in the world" get behind their team isn't it? The dressing up as seats was genius from the "18th man" aswell

If the bitter, history-dwelling cnuts can't fill their ground for a play-off game against SL champions Leeds, then they are a joke TBH, or maybe overconfident of reaching OT.

Im flying over to the UK to take my father in law over to watch the grand final, when do you reckon will be the latest I can wait to order tickets (want the 63 quid ones). We are only going over to watch Wigan, so I dont want to buy the tix just yet incase we don't make it. Do you reckon I should wait to see if we make it or just take a punt?

Wigan score anyway in virtually the same place, so no harm done

But should that be a penalty try? Goulding is going to ground the ball for a score, and Briscoe punches the ball out of his hand as he's trying to ground it with another man in a tackle, so it's a penalty

So, they committed a foul to prevent a try, should that be a try

As I say, it doesn't matter as they scored anyway

36-14. Game over.

Wigan have been very impressive, particularly going at Welham and Colbon

Phil Clarke is the biggest cuntstick on TV right now. The man is a disgrace in his bias towards Wigan and his column on Sky's website today beggars belief.

He claims Danny McGuire's 8 months on the sidelines is some form of justice dished out by the "rugby god's" for simply pulling back a support runner. Sick thing to say.

As for his commentary tonight, since when did RL become an 8 round version of boxing? :wenger:

Fecking moron!

he is a fecking dick, but to say he is bias towards Wigan is bonkers, I hate him calling our games as his drivel makes me wanna throw the remote through the tele.

I know nothing about you mate but you seem to have a serious chip on your shoulder regarding Wigan.

I have no problem with Wigan. Saints on the other hand...

Phil Clarke is pro-Wigan, how anyone can deny that is beyond me. He's even still bitter you got turned over last week and how McGuire cheated

What he said about McGuire was insensitive and quite frankly, a sackable offence.

Good performance by Wigan, I thought Clarke was definitely pro-Wigan tonight, some times the Sky commentary does annoy the hell out of me

I don't agree with his views on McGuire, but you can see the karma aspect of it, you cheat, you get punished. Not that this injury really fits the 'crime'

I say 'crime' as we'd all want our players to do similar, just look at OGS and the love he gets for that red card against Newcastle

Sam and Joel Tomkins are due career enders pretty soon then by that logic. Those two are as underhand as it gets. Joel in a more obvious way, Sam in a more sneaky way.

It's a good job that Clarke's logic doesn't apply because no player deserves a long-term or career threatening injury.

Anyway, enough on that gobshite, Clarke.

I'm just hoping we can beat Hudds tomorrow to set up the dream scenario as a Wire fan, sending KR to the demolition crew on the back of ending the curse once and for all, there would be no sweeter moment to do it especially on the back of being selected by Saints in the clubcall(I'm assuming they'll pick the winner of tomorrow)

But we have a tough game tomorrow, if we come through, I've a feeling we'll go all the way. Tomorrow is the one that concerns me though :nervous:

As they mentioned on the comms, I'm sure the Wigan fans would love the chance to send KR to its end with a defeat like they did with Central Park

Central Park (Wigan) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brilliant, not sure how long that has been like that, but amusing nonetheless

But I think you'll win tomorrow, and I'm sure they'll pick you, they'll see you as easier than Wigan imo

EDIT
Seems the link has been like that since the 14th at least

Sorry Mate,

Forgot to add you are spot on with what he said about maguire, that was a pure cnut thing to say and indeed sackable, I also think Rob Carney is another F-ing prick.

I can see the Wire beating Hfield tonight just taking them apart in the forwards but it has banana skin written all over it.

Any of you lads aiming to go to the Grand Final?

Personally, I quite like Clarke normally, but having just looked up the Sky website column you refer to, I too am incredulous that he could make such comments. As a couple of posters mentioned in response to the article, he should issue a full apology.

And yes, the eight rounds of ten minutes comment was pretty lame as well!

If we get there, I'll be going.

I missed out on Wembley 2009 and 2010, so OT would be a cert for me. I'd just have to queue at 5am or whatever.

Gutted, but rather than be short sighted and say we were poor, I'm going to give Huddersfield the credit their first half performance deserves. Superb stuff, just penned us in our own half for 40 minutes with their unbreakable defence and infuriatingly perfect kicking game.

Although gutted our season is over, I'm proud of the effort and quality shown in the second half especially in those shocking conditions.

We've collected 1 of the 2 trophies available for the second season in a row, and I for one am extremely proud and delighted by that improvement, I'd have not believed it possible 2-3 years ago. We'll learn from the wet weather schooling we've had in the last 2 weeks and improve next season.

Thanks to Tony and the boys for a cracking season and thank you and farewell to Richie and Vinnie.

Saints will go on to win it from here, I fancied us to beat them if we got through tonight but not to be. I think they'll beat Hudds next week and Wigan at OT.

Cracking 1st half from Hudds tonight...real surprise at the result.

I didn't see that coming

Apart from Hodgson for Mathers, are there any other changes looking likely at Warrington?

With Mathers leaving after rejecting terms to stay, Vinnie going, Penny(who was on a big wage) going, I'd say we had room on the cap for one more addition, he'd have to be English though as our quota is full for 2011.

Westerman is someone who's been linked, and I think we are after a back rower after Vinnie leaving and in anticipation for Harrison's eventual fulltime shift to prop. Whether it is Joe or someone else, we'll just have to see.
