Keane has a lot of credit in the bank for Ronaldo.
I expected Spurs to try and counter and be quite negative so we'll see how good we are soon, we were obviously better by own poor standards in recent years but I'm not getting carried away. We're improving, still need to finish chances and Spurs were poor, a bit of both really.

Tbh I expect most players who have played at the highest level to back Ronaldo. It takes a certain type of mentality(Arrogance + stupidity) to reach that peak. They will see Ten Hag asking Ronaldo to come on in the 88th minute as a power play and as an insult.

Not defending either Keane or Ronaldo here. Personally I think we are a better team without Ronnie now sad to say but that's just the way it is.

Players of a certain level can be seriously hard to deal with. They have a mentality that has gotten them to where they are it can blind them at times.
Ronaldo behaved the way he did because he wants to play and that's the bottom line. He believes he can make a difference every game and that's something that will never change about him.
Erik believes otherwise and I feel he is dealing with this well. I don't think it will phase him at all and he will carry on managing the team the way he is.

Doesn’t surprise me. People mention Sir Alex but these players all saw that Sir Alex DID in fact make exceptions for special players. He brutally got rid of them when they no longer justified that special treatment though which is what I don’t think Rio, Roy etc understands.
