Roy Keane

He talks a lot of bollocks doesn't he when he gets into these shouting matches

Keane's acted like a right dick. Said nothing about Ole for years and now he wants to go in on Carrick after his interview.

Keane is wrong in this latest argument. Carra spot on. Finished second last season, Ronaldo is 36/37. He was signed to win the league but he can’t start every game.

Keane is a child sometimes. Proper idiotic comments from him post-match looking to blame Carrick for his mate getting sacked

Ronaldo has dragged United into the last 16 of the CL. This idea that we'd have been better without him or more likely to win something without him is actuallly mental. There isnt a single bit of evidence in the last 5 years that we would have been. Without him, were back in the Europa League already. He was signed to improve us, but we were never winning a league without a new manager. Keanes loyalty to Ole has stopped him saying what was needed to win the argument there.

He is totally wrong on the Ronaldo issue though
i totally agree with Jamie—if He is not here to improve us why did we sign him
It’s a very backward step and it will set us back a couple of years
I love Ronaldo but He is old now and he is now an individual player who would get some goals but not help the team out
His fans and Man Utd ex players would all complain when he is on the bench but the days of goal hanging strikers are over in the top leagues and that’s why Chelsea look better without Lukaku as well
Anytime I see Ronaldo’s name on the team sheet against top teams I expect us to lose except you find a player like Cavani that can do all his work for him
People keep forgetting that this team came 2nd last season without Ronaldo

He didnt do that though. He correctly raised an issue about accountability and the unease with watching carrick talk about well executed plans and hard work, of which weve seen none for months and he was instrumental in. In recent years at United we've seen Giggs, Carrick, Fletcher, Phelan, and more get big roles at the club so he's spot on about that. We didnt go for the best for loads of essential roles, we went for the best of the people Ed and his cronies liked.

Roy Keane is a joke of a pundit. Should’ve stayed a retired football player, that’s it. Find yourself a job in another field.

Carragher is bang on. Ronaldo came on, played like he was in a huff and then stormed off down the tunnel. Roy said he was cold…when has he ever made an excuse like that for someone!? Team comes first. If Ronaldo doesn’t fit into the plan for the game then he shouldn’t start. Simple.

We need more Keane in football. That is for sure. I like Carragher to as a pundit but Keane talks sense lot of times. Even if he sometime can go over the top with his honesty.

We are in a weird position now as a fan base where I feel all our ex players completely misunderstand the problems at the club and are wrong in pretty much every aspect when they speak about it.

What was Keane wrong about today? I thought he was spot on

They were both talking shite and neither made their points well. Keane is talking shite to say United brought Ronaldo back to win Fa cups. Carragher is right in that sense that he was definitely bought with the idea of winning major comps.

However he’s talking shite again with this ‘Ronaldo press’ thing …. It needs to die a death.
Do any of the people saying this shit even watch United?
Have they watched Martial, Greenwood and Rashford over the last year? All of them jog about and don’t press enough. It’s not a Ronaldo problem, it’s a man United problem.
The only one of our forwards who puts a shift in is Cavani who is 100 years old and is always injured anyway.

Exactly, pure strikers aren't really that important anymore.

Another problem with Ronaldo is he doesn't even offer us any hold-up ability to help us keep the ball, he's easily bullied as a no.9.

Having a full blown meltdown about Carrick in a way he never did with Ole. Today he's proved he's no different to Neville in covering up for his friend.
He's also had a weird dislike for Carrick. Was the same when he was playing.

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous.

Why is he letting loose now? Claiming Carrick was talking bollox and where was the effort under Ole. Same could be said about Keane's criticism.

He talks zero sense. All he ever talks about is character and leadership. To him, everything comes down to that. He's tactically blind and provides zero insight. I'm actually quite baffled how clueless he comes off considering how intelligent and nuanced his own game used to be.

People like you believe Ronaldo is bigger than the team
We came 2nd in the league last year
We have become a worse team than we were last year
This is Man Utd not Ronaldo Utd
He is 36 and does not add anything to us in big games so he should be on the bench sometimes
This thing that Ronaldo or Messi are undroppable is ridiculous and would destroy this team for a few years

He’s completely wrong on the Ronaldo situation. Was embarrassing. He had a point regarding the Carrick stuff and the lack of planning etc and the jobs for the boys thing.
