Ronaldo Hints At United Return

I seem to remember a similar interview when asked if he would ever move to Madrid.. "You never know what the future holds etc.. "

People here need to stop jerking off to the prospect of Ronaldo returning. Surely we should have more pride than to beg for him to return?

I for one couldn't care less. I want players here who realize how lucky they are to be playing for this club under SAF, not players who feck off as soon as the opportunity presents itself. Ronaldo is a closed chapter to me.

oh dont be gay.

he wanted to play for madrid, he is now.

he was good here, he left with dignity, if he comes back, ill welcome him home.

I think he meant he was concerned that the chances for the youngsters would dry up. A fair observation considering Jose's scratchy track record regarding youth development.

He gave Santon a chance at Inter, said he was the new Maldini, and duly dropped him for most of last season. That's about it really in terms of him even remotely producing and developing a young talent.

we have an excellent youth policy, which Fergie helped nourish.

I am so excited about some of the lads coming through.

So they would be genuine concerns if Maurinho ignored that aspect of the club.

I do think he'll be back at some point, but unlikely during his prime years as a footballer - although that would be the ultimate comeback. Fulfilling his la liga dream whilst still a young man and coming back the best he can be. It could even be after his playing career is over, in the unlikely event that he wants to stay in football.

I love interviews from our ex players where you can tell just how much they genuinely love the club for what it did for them.

Say what you want about the club being distant from the fans, but you can tell that SIr Alex has made the club like a family amongst the players and I hope whoever takes over will carry on with that tradition. Manchester United is not just a football club where you come, play and win trophies. It should be like you're playing with your family members and having fun, whilst winning with them.

if Jose does want to come, and the signs are that he does, he'll make the appropriate vows and promises to continue the youth ethos. His history has been too much of a Mr Fixit for him to lay down roots in youngsters at previous clubs. That is the real concern for me. Would we be another step in his whistle-stop tour of European clubs or finally, his spiritual home? I would like it to bethe latter because he ticks all the boxes for me.

even if not Jose, what makes you think new manager can have the bottle to stand the shit storm and persevere with youth programs.

Fergie got all the time he need for what he have achieved in his tenure, new managers... meh...

We're not used to instability of manager changing due to Fergie, and it's eerie to think what it may bring to greenish managers.

I can't believe how many people have fallen for this, and indeed who have clutched at this particular straw since he left.

Ronaldo is on a steadily rising contract(with 5 years left on it), the longer he stays the more he'll earn yearly, he's due for roughly £450,000 a week in his final year and this is assuming he doesn't get a hike before then. He's not going to come to rainy old Manchester to take a 2-300% pay cut, no matter how much admiration he has for United. This also disregards the fee it'd take to bring him here, the £80m we got for him would be a mere starting point.

Face it, he's gone and will only return if we draw his club in the CL.

You should change you're user name to "Muppet Dreams" if you think Ronaldo or even Mourinho himself will be rolling up here. The only chance of your wish coming true is if we draw them in the CL and duly get spanked.

save this post, revisit in 3-5 years

Don't you know? He's been round Jose's every night since the summer, they practice English together, have fish and chips for dinner, with the Stone Roses playing in the background, all in preparation for their journey to Manchester once Fergie has gone, where upon arrival they will be showered in roses and dafodils ;)

:nono:

Celibate. ;)

Good post. Add to that he has always want to go to Spain. He's where he wants to be.

When he said 'who knows' he didn't mean he'd ever wanted to come back to United. It was just a display of gratefulness and respect to and for Fergie and the club. Nothing more, nothing less.

There's a certain tongue-in-cheek element to this which seems to have gone over your head a bit.

To give a serious answer I don't think anyone is remotely expecting him back in the next 5 yrs, but when he's over 30 it might be a different matter. Players become unhappy at clubs for lots of reasons, and if that does happen then he may well contrast it with his time with us, when he was pretty obviously a happy bunny.

I think your post does make some sense, however if he is getting that money at Real who is going to pay it City, I doubt he ever goes there he seems to have respect for the club. I dont know if he ever comes back, I think maybe the odds on it are 4:1 or something like that right now, but a whole lot can change in 6 years, a whole hell of a lot

This whole post is pretty much nonsense but what the feck is the bold part? We'll always be a top club, whether we're amazing or a pile of wank at any given time :wenger:

I must clarify, I'm not saying I reckon we'll do a Leeds any time soon. By top club in this instance I mean in the shape we've been under Fergie, with trophies rolling in every other year. A "top, top, top club", if you will.

I'm more starry-eyed and optimistic than many of our fans, I'm not much for doom and gloom when it comes to MUFC. It's not all about trophies either for me, but it's not implausible that we're in for a period of less success once Fergie retires.

Not saying that Ronaldo will but strategically, it would make sense to come back to United. As he career winds down -- and being such a physical player, I doubt he will last into his early 30s.

Moving back to United and ride on its coat-tails will enable him to further exploit the commercial opportunities in the rest of the English speaking world, and where the money is. I am pretty sure he has hit a commercial plateau being in RM, (with its limited exposure) whereas, United will still offer him wider global commercial opportunities.

Why is it hard to believe that maybe Ronaldo fell in love with United after all, albeit not as much as Madrid. Maybe after being there he realises that in some aspect United was much better.

Was a pleasure to watch the lad.

I shudder at the thought of watching him run at our back 4 in this season's form.

If she isn't a journalist, hell even if she is a journalist, I am already calling BS!!

That should go probably go in some twitter thread...

Does this woman work on caughtoffside or the daily star by any chance? If not then you can be sure they would employ her in a second
