Ronaldinho

You mean when he helped Brazil win the World Cup..?

Legend has it that he didn't play that well in 2002.. But he did win that England game by himself, and in the finals he gave Ronaldo like 3 or 4 though balls that he messed up in front of Kahn

I remember that my expectations of him were ridiculously high before the 2006 World Cup but then he was very disappointing I think. If I remember correctly he played quite deep for Brazil as well? I think I was baffled that he didn't take on anyone.

I was not a big fan of him but that was just me lying to myself...he had a brilliant career as a footballer... His performance in that World Cup is up there with the very best we have seen in previous years, his wild child attitude opens him up to a lot of unfair/idiotic criticism.. Do you think Diego dominated every game like the England game 86?
People can play at the top for 4-10 yrs but can only perform consistently at their very best 2-5 yrs...

That was nothing like Ronaldinho at his best though. It just never happened for him at that level. His best performances were probably when he was still a teenager.

Sorry for the bump but just seen a goal by him on tv. What a special player, the most outrageously talented player I have ever seen. On his day Ronaldo or Messi are both in his shadow!

Messi's the greatest player of all time, at 19 he threatening to out perform Ronaldinho even during his peak!

Still one of only two players who can score a rabona freekick on Fifa. Still the man in my eyes.

Too machine like! The romance of Ronaldinho's style of play is long gone in today's game.

Scores in abundance but for all the tricks and flicks Ronaldinho produced, there's nothing like seeing Messi use quick body feints and close control to dribble his way through a team, playing those quick one two's or starting a move and finishing it.

Different styles, both great to watch, Messi more so IMO. Seen both live a couple times against us. Messi was considerably better than Ronaldinho in our game back in 2006.

EDIT - ... but Ronaldinho scored the best goal i've ever seen against us the year before.

I'm glad you remember, it's one of my favorite goals of all time. Ronaldinho to a tee.

So, Ronaldinho finally did something worth taking his shirt off (Score a penalty in the last minute of added time):

Compared to the old Barca days:

Prop say there'll never be another Messi or a Ronaldo, but Dinho is the true irreplaceable one, pure entertainer, magical footballer who didn't care about stats, just wanted to see how far he could push the boundaries!

Question for everyone, would you give up the possibility of signing Ronaldo for Ronaldinho when we replaced Becks?

To think we were so close to getting him (no Wenger)

fecking Kenyon. Not only did he feck up this deal but he fecked up the Robben deal.

We could have had one of Ronaldo/Ronaldinho and Robben on the wings.

He's well tubby these days. Surely not the result of a thyroid condition like Ronaldo?

That first Giuly goal reminiscent of how he scored v Milan in the 2005-06 semi...very underrated player, that man.

That first no-look assist

Still my favourite ever player to watch.

love to watch Dinho and love skills but that no-look pass is the most useless skill ever, hate it. One thing is giving players the eyes but that dramatic turn of head in the last millisecond doesnt fool anyone and is annoying as feck IMO
The pass itself was fantastic:drool:

Ronaldinho before Messi or Ronaldo for me every time. I actually loved to watch Barca when he was there. Simply brilliant.

Favorite non-United player. He's the spirit of the beautiful game.

Also, he had a taste for thicc girls, which makes me respect him even more:D

If there is a player who deserves to be called brilliant it is Ronaldinho. Not the best among the greats but the most brilliant, IMO

If i ever think in football of what if's then this guy comes to mind along with Luis Ronaldo. If only both of these had displayed the same commitment and the latter had luck with injuries then we would have been including both of these in the Messi v Ronaldo debate. Two of the most naturally gifted players of all time

To think that every paper in the country was reporting his transfer as a done deal back in 2003.
What an utter cnut Kenyon was for screwing it up.

And to think Keynon fecked up his United transfer, the desert-headed knobber.
