Suspect this is from Everton or the players camp to flush out Chelsea's bid as they've spent most of the anticipated money already. We don't release news that we might spend £100m on another player when we are trying to negotiate spending less than £70m on a player. It may just be journos making an obvious follow up story from the Rooney one.

There are no similarities in Drogba's and Lukaku's game. They are very much different players, only similarity is they are strong players and played for Chelsea.

No similarities ? Really ? Drogba is the mature version of Lukaku will be. He was excelled in long shot distance and free kicks. And may be the fighting spirit. But that is all.
Along the age, Lukaku will equal what Dogba could do.

Both of players not that good in dribling due to their size.

So what is this big difference ? Perhaps, Drogba was a late bloomer, while Lukaku was early one. But most of the aspects of their game are similar.

Lukaku all day night long than Morata.

Surely this is just us pressuring Chelsea to push forward with their transfer deals quicker and release Matic to us before our preseason tour?

Just sign them both! We'll need them if we're going for the quadruple, which we of course are!

Yea i am with you that we are surely not after both. But in another way its 2 out and 2 in and we needed all of our 4 strikers last season.

So you can see where the flawed logic comes from and its not beyond Jose to try and get one over a rival in the market for no real reason other than its a rival. He has form in this and if he snapps up both Morata and Lakaku who do chelsea sign?

Sound to me like we're posturing to pressure Madrid for a lower price. If we're that interested we should have been more aggressive until now. Only few days till pre season to start a serious interest in a big money transfer.
We could've been interested all along; the scuttlebutt was that he preferred Chelsea to us, meaning we were one of the options. It's not like Jose's list is posted on ManUtd's website ranked according to preference and what they're working on.

Fair points, but I think if you're that interested & this is domestic transfer, it should have given more noise, especially this big money transfer. Considering English journalist ain't deemed that reliable with overseas transfer, they would go crazy on a everybit of (half truth) news they can find. How fairly quiet until now with Lukaku link with us does sound strange to me. Of course I am not saying my initial point is most plausible

Fact that everyone seems to have this suggests some kind of a central leak from the club.

Drogba and Lukaku aren't that similar in my eyes too. Drogba was a lot more elegant.

Please no, the piss is being taken. One of them is fine(not enough), two of them is pointless.

We were already adding striking power long before we knew Ibrahimovic wouldn't be here. Why, now Zlatan is also going, would we not add more?

With fire power I wasnt targeting two strikers, considering I dont think we will play two strikers. They both want to be the 1st striker so that is gonna go bad unless Mourinho starts playing 2 strikers. In fire power I'd want a top class winger or 10 who creates goals and scores them.

A leak from Everton I'm guessing. Puts pressure on Chelsea to pay up. There's just no way we're spending ~160m on two forwards.

Mino smells money. Of course we are now being heavily linked to Lukaku. If chelsea are going to feck around, mino will look for another club and play them off against each other. The outcome, Mino likely gets paid.

I still think we'll sign Morata...I believe the Morata deal is getting close to being finalised.

But those saying they wouldn't want Lukaku haven't a clue what they're taking about when it comes to football. The youngster is OUTSTANDING! Will definitely be a world class No.9 for the next 10-years, injuries-aside.

I actually thought that this rumour would be squashed really early on, but the tweets coming out this morning only seem to be backing it up. Interesting times...

The point with Drogba though is that he joined Chelsea at 26yrs years old, then he still took 2 years to fully settle and become the world-beater we remember him as. Lukaku is still only 24yrs old and still has a lot of time to fine tune aspects of his play.

Please god don't make us sign this donkey. Morata will be 3x the player while costing less and buying both of these guys just admits that Rashford will never get the opportunity he needs up top. Honestly I'd lose a lot of faith in the club if they were willing to splash £100 million on someone that can't actually control a football.

Someone's trying to get Chelsea to get a move on....

No bloody way that we will sign TWO super expensive strikers. Only if morata can play on the left wing. But i never seen him there so this lukaku story is huge bs

Shocked to see the BBC confirm this story. Doubt they would do that without a source at our club too. Perhaps we are playing games here. You don't sell us Matic now and we'll hijack Lukaku.

rather have Lukaku and go for Fabinho then, tbh.

we've now had more BBC stories about lukaku than we have had for Matic :lol::wenger:

He can but I doubt he's willing to given the lack of a starting berth at Real upfront is the reason he's moving.

We need goals, and I would welcome both Morata and Lukaku. Maybe play with wide forwards instead of wingers.

Lukaku + Morata and our attack are sorted, If I have to choose one I'll go with Morata.

Anyway, I won't pay much into these rumors till I see some stronger links rather than new coming in response to Rooney leaving.

It's a bold move, and I'm happy for it weakening Chelsea as much strengthening us. Very exciting development if true.
