Not if his current contract doesn't have a buyout clause or it's ridiculously high. This way he'd get a nice pay increase, play in a system that's suiting him well for a manager with potential to be a top, top manager( more than likely end up at Barcelona in the future).

If he got a buyout of £50m-£60m inserted into a new deal then it doesn't price him out of the top tier of clubs.

He doesn't have a buyout, it would have been widely reported if it did.

Everton are not fools to add a release clause, and they are not common in the UK anyway. The way footballer prices are moving up and up, it'd be stupid to add such clause for anything other than silly money. It would be over £100m easily and thus no worth renewing the contract for. Remember even 1-season wonders like Belotti in Italy have €100m clauses.

Belgian media are bullshitting.

He wants to go to Chelsea while Costa's the main man? Unless he leaves he won't be automatic first choice.
Arsenal won't spend if Wengers still around, Spurs have Kane,City?- is he a Pep player? And they still have Aguero.

On the other hand, a couple of Spanish clubs may be in for him if Utd don't make a move.

We should be all over this guy
Costa is leaving this summer let's not kid ourselves

Aaaahh feck
It reads more like a. 'He won't sign a new deal and his heart wants to go back to Chelsea. '.

Mentions Juventus too but labels Chelsea is number 1 choice especially as he's a fan of them anyway

Sky are saying he'll refuse a new contract. We seriously need to go all in for in the summer!

He could be the powerhouse, mobile, lethal striker Mourinho loves to have.

To the Griezmann thread!!!

He's always supported Chelsea as a child so it's most likely his first choice if available and Costa leaves.

He would be a great signing. His record speaks for its self. Jose can also improve him. Lets see what happens in the summer.

I don't see Jose buying him back after selling him when he was more than ready to lead that Chelsea lineup.

He'd be a good replacement for Costa if he pulls a fuss and requests to go back to Atletico again. Would also help in our pursuit of griezmann!

Cheers. Will be interesting to see what sort of offers Everton get.

23yo, proven pedigree in the EPL over 4-5 years. Easily £50m current market. But if they hold out for more he might move next year for less, seen as he'd be entering his last year in summer '18

Not lethal, have you not seen the goals he scores?
You seen the chances he misses? He is a level below the top tier yet would cost the price of a Griezmann. I'd hate to see him here. His touch is atrocious which constantly affects his link up play and I'm not sure his work rate is anywhere near what Jose would want from a mobile, incredibly strong centre forward.

He's got one of the best conversion ratios? Bad touch, maybe. Bad finishing, no.

If there's no buyout clause currently then he's destined to spend the next 3 seasons at Everton on his current small wages. A player of 23/24 with his amount of Prem goals wouldn't come cheap at all.

At least by negotiating a new contract he's far better paid while he waits for someone to pay them new buyout clause. Can understand Evertons position, the way player values are going they'd be foolish to allow it set too low, even Crystal Palace spent over £30m on Benteke last Summer, mad money really.

Every striker misses chances. Do you think Kane doesn't miss? Ibrahimovic doesn't miss? Drogba at his age was nowhere near as good.

I think given ur current goal scoring "crisis" I would be begging for a proven PL goal scorer, especially given how, at 23, he's only going to get better.

That's not how things work buddy. He's got 2 years left on his contract. He's out by next summer at the latest, Everton won't lose him for free.

Everton is his level tbh, certainly not good enough for a side wanting to win major honours

I can't see Lukaku aging as well as Drog did. Not just because he started playing senior football very young but also he is too big. I can see him ageing like Rooney, not Giggs.

I think so too, but hes 23. If he gives you 8 good years, it's hard to argue against the cost.

Id give up on this football lark if I were you.

He's scoring more goals at an average club than the strikers at the clubs competing for major honours.

Take away the other top strikers penalties (Rom doesn't take ours) and he's comfortably ahead of the rest...

However for some bizarre reason you think he wouldn't be able to do the same at a club where he is surrounded by far better players ?

Bizarre logic

If we are signing him, it would mean Zlatan is leaving. Raiola wouldn't want both of his clients competing for the same spot.
