And that's where his overall game is crucial, Lukaku until today have been relatively poor in that department which means that the other players will have less support and at a worse quality. We are now expecting them to do much more than what they were supposed to do.
Just look at PSG, Cavani is a very good goalscorer he creates for himself chances that almost no one else creates but his inability to consistently bring his his teammates into play was a problem last season because he was the only player benefiting from his job.
Yeah, I agree with all of that.

Lukaku is going to be very good for United. He's 24 and a proven EPL scorer and scoring's what was missing last season at MU. Plus, with much better players and better service he may become even more effective in front of goal. All in all, great signing.

Lukaku's problem is going to be how defences camp in their own box against us. Our attack often worked very well last season until the final third when we were stuck with Zlatan, who for all his qualities was in the middle of every move and slowed us right down and let oppositions regroup. I hope Lukaku's pace and movement will address that but I think he will take a while to settle in.
I think ibra's lack of pace and the impact Lukaku's extra pace will have is overstated. As you said, in most games, we'll be playing vs teams camped in their box and then it becomes more about a good touch, technique, link up play, movement etc rather than outright pace.

and? where does PSG sweep in from? we are still light in numbers, its 38 games in the league+domestic cup comps+europe. Lukaku is our only readily recognizable striker. And even if not everything they say its true, the player himself said he's not going anywhere, you can't just ignore that

Maybe because it's a French club, based in Paris, have the money and are always looking to sign top French talent which Martial most certainly is.

If we get another LW than Martial will be even further down the pecking order for both LW and CF spot, 3RD choice for both and I'm not sure he'd want to stick around knowing he won't get to play much.

You're way too hostile about this. If we get another LW I can see that happening and I've explained it to you why I think so.

I prefer Lukaku to Morata. With Zlatan gone, we lost our bully upfront, the confidence and attitude Lukaku has, he'll make it less pleasant to play against us, more than having Morata, Mata and Rashford running the attack anyway, we need at least one cnut upfront.

Personally, I'm disappointed by this transfer but I'm going to refrain from expressing my disappointment as the signing is already confirmed and as a fan of the club, I will always get behind every Man Utd player no matte how much I dislike him. I'm happy to eat my words back and would love Lukaku to prove me wrong. I still have doubts about his ability but I guess he's the "best" available striker in the market. Apparantely Chelsea has also matched our offer, if so, why did he not choose to go Chelsea? Isn't he a boyhood Chelsea fan? Deep down inside, I was silently hoping Chelsea would steal him from under our nose, as they had a habit of doing so in the past.
Strange mind set.

Who exactly did you want as our striker if you had a choice?

One of our best signings for years to come

Funny how fans are expected to be ecstatic when their club signs a player even when it's a shit player. I don't rate Lukaku, never have. I love the club as much as anyone; I just wanted a different type of striker so that we could play good football.
Arsenal have been playing 'good' football for years, how's that panned out for them?

Not everybody wanted us to sign Lukaku and preferred a different kind of striker but that doesn't mean he's shit, he's just not what you look for in a striker, unfortunately Mourinho see it differently.

Regarding Lukaku's style, I personally have only really watched him in the big games. He wasn't the easiest on the eye in those games, but Jose's big game tactics are very specific. As long as he carries out his task and takes the big chances that come his way in the big games, I think he'll be the perfect striker for Jose.

He is a Mourinho type striker.....and his others haven't done badly for him in the past at all. I'm happy. The fact Chelsea were supposedly in for him to means he's a player that commands some genuine belief in his ability and value to a team.

We have had a world renowned striker last season yet we playing dogshiit football for the great majority of the season.

I think you're a troll mate and a bad one at it.

Good little clip of him talking about his game and his desire to improve.

This and the video of him with Carragher, have sold me on to him in the last few days.

I think he will be fantastic.

I wanted big Rom from the beginning. Then all the reports came he had his mind set on Chelsea and we're in for Morata. Felt a bit disappointed as I'm convinced his finishing, pace and strength put in a better team than Everton, with more creative players will excel.
Now I am happy. Can't really get so excited as there's split opinion on the cafe and there was barely any build up to the transfer. But in general I feel satisfied. And if true that we did have bids for Morata, which Madrid rejected and if Chelsea were really in for him - makes it a touch sweeter. And getting rid of Rooney being our bargaining chip - take a bow Mr. Woodward.
I think the massive add on fee could be result of us taking care of some of Wayne's wages.

Lukaku and Pogba will team up really well.
So far 2 young players, who are good and will improve in the near future.
I want another muppetastic signing for our wings. Keep up the momentum Ed.

Just corrected that last bit of your post

Does Pogba have any other great footballing mates who would be interested in a move?

He was arrested on July 2nd so long before this news broke so well not our player

He isn't shit though. You can have doubts but calling him shit isn't exactly the best way to convince people that you have a point.

Not me, I don't care what a single player's goal tally is. The game has moved on too. 25 goals from your no. 9 won't be enough if other players aren't hitting double digits.

You don't care what a single player's goal tally is, but other players' goal tally needs to be in double digits?

u k hun? xx

Don't agree with that at all. The lack of numbers from the others was about their lack of quality in terms of performance, nothing to do with Ibra's ego. That's just shifting the blame needlessly.
Check the numbers, Zlatan had something like 130 shots. Rashford, martial, Miki had between 30-40 each. Zlatan slowed up play, didn't stretch teams to create space and often stifled our play.

The man scored goals but he had a bad affect on the rest of the teams output.

Andy Cole had zero overall game when he came here... He was just finishing, and he improved his overall ability no end.

RVN was a pure finisher, didn't did him any harm.

Yes ideally you want an all singing all dancing forward, but it's not essential and as Lukaku is still young, he can definitely improve.

fecking hilarious that this happened last week, yet the second he signs for United it becomes headline news.
That's because no one cares about news regarding Everton player's except Everton fans. The whole world seems to care about any news regarding United though, especially if it's negative.

Strong, quick, good in the air and lethal in front of goal, the typically perfect prem striker. I struggle to think of a player more fitting to a Jose system than RedRom. He'll be a massive success for us.

He has a heavy first touch? So did Rooney but that didn't stop him becoming United's greatest goal scorer of all time.
