Yeah, you put the spotlight on something important here, Herreras awful squad number. He need to upper that now that he's an established star and could potentially sell a bus load of shirts.
 
To wear the number nine shirt: odds are 1/3 with Ladbrokes. Seems a safe bet.
 
His Twitter handle is @RomeluLukaku9 and he usually wears the number 9 shirt for Belgium. Therefore, it should be pretty evident which shirt he would occupy if the deal gets completed.

Still think he's getting 9 despite the leak we saw today. He literally told Phil Brown he was going to be wearing 9.
 
Part of me think Pogba might be after the #10 jersey he jumped at it as soon as he was able at Juve. I'd like Lukaku to get #10

That's a very tough discussion for him to take with the people in charge. His marketing value would probably go up a bit. However, he's still within the first 11 numbers. Number 6 is ok if he wants to stay in midfield as a maestro. As an attacking player he should definitely be wearing #10. It's just that we need to be careful with #9 and #10 now that they are free and some strikers coming in. #7 is another extremely important one to hold on to. It will be an interesting summer this.
 
Has to be 9, anything else would be stupid especially as its available.

Save the #10 for a proper #10

It certainly will be an interesting summer. Intersting to see which numbers are given to whom. I'm sure Marketing will be heavily involved. Other than Bobby Moore I don't think the #6 as been a very popular/marketable number in the U.K. With bigger players which is strange when compared to the continent.

Always thought he'd get 9 which is why I was surprised to hear reports suggesting he'd be 10. Since then reports have switched to 9 though so I think that will ultimately be his number and is the right choice. Don't think there's any chance of Pogba changing number. The PO6BA brand is too marketable and it wouldn't make sense to change it. 10 will go to a new signing I'd say.
