He’ll start v juve but next weekend just give him a rest and let Sanchez up top.

Yes we would have back but for nowhere near £75_£90m,maybe £45m that is more of less his value you well overpaid what he is worth.

60m might be the value they can stretch up to when they can pay 45 m for the likes of Sigurdsson and 50 m for Richardlison.

Wish we'd just give him a couple of games rest and give somebody else a chance. Even a front 3 of Rashford, Martial and Alexis with Mata or Lingard in behind.

Lukaku is pretty much exhibit number one of why judging strikers by goal returns alone is idiotic. Stats, both at club and international level make him look borderline elite, but the eyes tell the true story.

He is what he is, a fairly reliable scorer/flat track bully but his top level is not high enough for the level Utd aspire to be at.

Slim pickings though, that Summer it was Lukaku, Morata and Lacazzette as a distant third.

Both of these points are spot on, not sure who we'd buy to compete with him right now either.

Seeing him press the ball against a defensive unit in control reminds me a bit of that Messi-video on Instagram, the one where he lobs the ball over his fat dog fifty times. Lukaku is way, way too heavy to be a top Premier League-striker.

He's not even our best striker, that's what's so concerning. Mourinho's first real mistake at United was ridding Martial of the No.9 for a player who was clearly only going to be with us for a year. Yes, he's not Mourinho's type of striker, but any of the other Top 6 managers would play Martial upfront ahead of Lukaku. Ideally we'd have refrained from signing a striker in 2017 and purchased a quality winger or two and played Martial upfront with Rashford also available as an option.

He is a 6ft 3in poacher. A bulked-up version of Chicharito basically. Pretty solid goalscorer, but his general play is just not good enough
Hernandez is in a different stratosphere when it comes to movement.

I’m not sure if anyone else noticed but it was really frustrating in the last few minutes when we had a free-kick on halfway and Smalling, Lindelof were quite animated in gesturing for Lukaku to move to the left side of the pitch to offer himself as a target for the long ball.

Despite Smalling repeatedly asking him to do so he seemed to refuse so instead it was Sanchez who challenged for the ball and we lost possession.

Now that Lukaku is here at old Trafford I don't like to speek to badly about Lukaku.

There's multiple reasons he is struggling but his problems start long before he actually came to United.

We started off with the whole club excited about the progression of Martial & Rashford together - there is a reason Woodward is defensive about those two. We went for Ibrahimovic the first season; a fantastic player but he was a player that doesn't manage to get the best out of those two and vise versa.

Lukaku is the same. He is managed my a manager who plays him in between 2 other strikers & puts him under pressure of playing a game that does not suit him nor the players around him.

Can we really blame him?

We need to either play martial or Sanchez as the centre guy in between Rashford & Lukaku or simply buy another support striker/Am.

Lukaku needs to get off the centre.

Worrying. It’s worrying to see someone cleary unatheltic and devoid of fundamental football skills still play in the premier league, never mind in a united team. How is this still happening? Something’s gone terribly wrong for him since last season and he needs a prolonged break of some sort to regain some basic skills of football. It’s laughable. His past 8 games would have been cringe worthy even in a Sunday league. I hate saying this because I value Lukaku as a striker for us a lot and I have been relentless in support but for anyone that plays football you just can see he is not a premier league player right now.

Unlike last season he has failed to get out of this slump.

You look at his goal return and think he must be the dog's bollocks.
Yet he's so poor in so many areas of the game. It's a mystery he's quite prolific.
Morata, whose all round game looks pretty decent couldn't hit a barn door.

What was he doing at the latter stages of stoppage time, at the edge of Chelsea's box, back-heeling the ball to a Chelsea player? This was the time to be cynical, Lukaku should've run down to the corner flag to waste time.

Little details, but still… what was that.

I like his personality, so don't wanna be too harsh on him, especially when you consider that the alternative was much worse (Morata), but we will probably need an upgrade.
Chicharito had much better movement than Lukaku will ever have. And no we didn't have to buy a striker in this summer. We could've put Martial as the number 9 and put the money into buying top wingers. It was Mourinho's desire to buy a targetman to replace the other targetman who got injured because he can't play his usual football without the big number 9. We didn't have to buy a striker. And if we wanted the target man there are better strikers for this than Lukaku.

Short of form, low on confidence and playing through some of the worst service I've seen in all of my years supporting United.

We started to get a bit of curry through the middle of the park for about 15-20 minutes in the second half and he became much more influential (which is obvious). Moved between the lines of the advancing midfield and linked up play to help drive us forward and had an influence on both goals.

That being said he needs a rest and it is blatantly obvious. A two week period on the pine would freshen him up. Though with our schedule he's going to have to wait unfortunately. Some more big games coming up.

Since I started supporting United I don't remember any striker worse than him who played for us bar Falcao and Welbeck and they weren't starters.

RVN, Ole, Saha, Rooney, Tevez, Berbatov, Chicharito, RVP, Zlatan.

I'll take all of them ahead of him any time.

He hasn't scored in 7 x 90 consecutive minutes for us. Over 630 minutes or 10 and a half hours of football, without being subbed off. Let that sink in. This is the quality we have up front for us.

I honestly believe him being undroppable is due to Mou desire to have a minimum of 4 giants in the team.

Problem with Lukaku is hes pretty useless in defensive situations from set pieces. Even when the ball is launched to him upfront hes loses lots of headers when challenged

The way passes ricochet off his boot gets disgusting to watch. Some of these are decent passes that could lead to decent attacks if he could make a smooth return pass. He has a hand in his own shit service. Also straight up refuses to move into certain areas of the pitch. The CF position has evolved beyond just being the team's designated goalscorer

I’d have Alan Smith over this waste of a shirt.

He's the worst number 9 I have seen in my time following United without a doubt.

Dong Fanzhou, Manucho Goncalves, David Hellion, Falcao, Alan Smith? We've dropped some proper clangers.

He looks like he can't run anymore....where's the acceleration gone? He's not even using his strength to upset defenders anymore

I find it puzzling, he looks like a player's who 32 and is finished. He really needs a rest/dropped soon and give Sanchez a run out up front

Had Manucho even played a game for us ? I don't remember. Signed and then got hyped due to CAN 2008, but he ceased to exist later.

Falcao was terrible for us but he kind of regained some form at Monaco again. I would still take a fit Falcao over him.

Yeah but he was shite here. That all that matters in my comparison with the rest of our forwards.

Last season we had alot of cheeky buggers around laughing at his doubters when he got on these tap in streaks.

Hello, lurking much?
