There is nothing more to say about Lukaku's performance as it has been discussed to death here. In a game where we won comfortably, he still stuck out like a sore thump. He showed no improvement at all when it comes to touch, hold up, movement and striker instinct.

Hope the valiant defenders of him such as Litch and Haram will finally admit they are wrong once Lukaku fcuked off in the summer. Gods know who will be stupid enough take him from us.

It's a frequent occurrence with his hold up play, he often stands still waiting for the ball to reach him allowing a defender to nip in front and intercept.

Thanks! Didn't notice that he stopped. Thought Rashfords pass was bad when watching the game. Actually, the pass is quite good... but what on earth is Lukaku thinking. Where is his killer instinct? Just get to the ball for devil's sake.

The Lukaku defence is a bit like Jose's. They'll only realise how crapt
He is when he leaves and is replaced by someone else

Thought he did pretty well in the first half, but second half was prime Lukaku that. :lol:
 
He showed work rate and he's able to put in a decent ball from the right. His best position in this team.

His pass choices were awful at times, but great crossing.

Overall, despite the great effort, he's far too limited a footballer to be at our club. He looked knackered after one run of tracking back and stopped making runs. His spatial awareness, movement and touches are woeful. Felt for Pereira as when lukaku was on the ball he rarely showed for it.

I commend him for his effort. Just far too limited a footballer.
 
He did ok today. Nearly scored a header and got an assist if lingard wasn't so desperate to round the keeper. Just bloody shoot! . Anyway 6/10 performance. it's a shame the players are forbidden to pass it to him when he's wide open.
 
Okay, I am seriously annoyed with him now. Forget the quality, even the attitude is lacking.
 
He's always put some decent crosses in when he's been on the right to be fair but yeah, all round I just don't think he's good enough. Doesn't show for the ball nearly as much as he should.
 
His attitude was absolutely fine today. He was knackered towards the end, but certainly not lazy.

Provided two genuine moments of quality, too.
 
Overall quality on the ball was poor bar the chance he created for Lingard, but his workrate was very good.
 
Thought he was atrocious in general but pulled out a couple of really good moments. Worked hard and put in a couple of decent crosses, but that's the very minimum expectation for an attacking player here.

He's an active hindrance to the side when we have the ball and he knows it so hides on the pitch.
 
Thought he had a nice first half and was part of the reason I had hope for us going forward, but the second half was pretty dire. Surprised Liverpool kept allowing him to cut onto his left and cross in, since it was clear that was the only way he was going to affect the game. All around just not enough quality for these big games where retaining possession and controlling the game (and football) are key.
 
Best crosser at the club since Beckham. Technically awful aside from that.

Put a shift in today though so fair play.

Echo these sentiments. I think its clear now to see he isnt and wont ever be good enough for a top top side but his workrate and effort were there today. And for that he should be praised
 
Great performance from him today. Attitude spot on. Took one for the team playing out wide and even tracked the runners back.

Very nice to see.

Also, his crosses are deadly! :p
 
For him this is was a good game. For Utd it's another game on the belt to build from.

We have no choice but to get behind him.

Despite what I think of his performances and ability, he arguably set up two sitters. Lingard should have taken a shot imo and Smalling should have followed through on his run (you ALWAYS do that at the back post).
 
He's not good enough and we need to be looking for a replacement. But seeing as he's with us for the foreseeable future he may as well start on the right where he can at least put in a decent cross now and then
 
Thought he was good today even before he was having to play out wide. Touched looked much better but there were times when he tried to look for a pass instead of going on himself when maybe he should have. Times early on where Mata, Herrera and Rashford ignored some great runs from him as well.

After all the injuries put in a shift and was pretty decent getting back and snuffing things out.
 
Created 2 chances with great use of the ball but so much wrong with the rest of his game. Great crosser of the ball from the right but he just doesn't have the fitness to get up and down at his size.
 
Lukaku did well today, far from perfect, but fought well and could have got a couple of assists too.
 
Can’t complain about him today. That pass to Lindard was sensational, and he could also have assisted Smalling at the end. Sure he’s not banging them in, but his contribution today was good.
 
He's fecking terrible at playing football.

And for a man of his physique, he's a fecking weakling. The amount of times Robertson pushed him on the ball was embarrassing.

If he's not using his bulk then he's not doing anything because he cannot control a ball, he can't run with it, he can barely pass it (yeah he played a nice ball for Lingard and a good cross that Smalling should've got onto so I'll give him credit for that) and he's not shooting much either. What's the point of him as a footballer?
 
Created our best two chances today but I still find it pointless because he was poor most parts of the game. Thats were my problem with him lies. His negatives far outweigh his positives. We will never be good enough with a player this limited. We paid so much for him and he's on massive wages but is still so terrible at playing football. He needs to keep crossing well or whatever it is you guys find good about him so we can ship him off for a good fee this summer.
 
Couple of clumsy moments but overall one of our better players today. That chance for Jesse was our best bit of interchange in the whole game.
