I really hope Lukaku don't play from a Utd perspective and a Bosnian one too, I'm actually afraid of what he would do to our shitty defenders!

I hate international football so much it's unreal  He should never have travelled at all!

Some of the reactions in here are a bit bizarre. Of course he's called up, he was considered fit enough by Mourinho to play him for the full 90 minutes against Crystal Palace, why would Martinez leave him out? Believe me, I have absolutely no love for Martinez but I struggle to see how he's doing anything wrong here. It's also not realistic to ask national teams to rest players that have played a lot of club games. National teams get few enough chances to play together and form an understanding as it is, they need to take full advantage of those opportunities. Naturally, dead rubber games should allow for some additional experimentation but fielding reserve teams doesn't make any sense from Martinez's point of view.

Because no point risking players getting injured in pointless games. I don't think they need these meaningless games to form understanding, they wouldn't have even qualified that early if they needed that.

Whatever happened to those Everton "experts" that kept going on about how, taking away Lukaku's goals, they still would have finished 7th??

Because Lukaku have struggled with his ankle and Belgium are through..... Of course Lukaku is going to play a massive game for United, Belgium don’t need him fr these matches though. feck international football.

They're busy working out Rooney's best position...

I think the reactions from here stem from the fact that Belgium have qualified already and Lukaku may be carrying a knock (http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php#c14), so it seems unnecessary to risk the player when he can remain fit and ensure he doesn't exacerbate any conditions that may be pre-existing.

Surely the next couple of matches for Belgium are the very definition of dead rubbers? Why doesn't Martinez throw in more game time for Batshuayi and Origi (sorry I don't watch Belgium too often so don't know if they already play quite a bit)?

Romelu Lukaku missed training for Belgium due to an ankle injury, but thankfully for Manchester United fans, it looks as if his problem is not a serious one.

According to journalist Kristof Terreur, the Belgian went for a scan on the injury and the results showed that there was do damage to his bones or ligaments and that he will continue his rehabilitation with the national side.

Lukaku apparently picked up the injury whilst training for Man United ahead of their Premier League game with Crystal Palace and whilst he was able to feature in that game, he did so by playing through the pain.

Belgium face a tough game against Bosnia & Herzegovina, although they might consider giving Lukaku a break from that game as the have already secured their place at the World Cup, having amassed 22 points from their eight qualifying games so far.

Man United fans will be keeping an eye on events closely over the coming days.

The ankle injury is made up right? Right?

I don't think so. There was a lot of concern that he would miss the Crystal Palace game last week.

Hopefully Martinez does the sensible thing and doesn't fecking play him.

I thought it was made up so he doesn't play him.

Forget it, he’ll play him

Been declared fit for Belgium.
Brown shoes is going to feck us big time.

Why the feck are they playing a half-injured player in a match that doesn't even matter?

Why on earth would they play a half fit player against Cyprus when they've already qualified?

They aren't going to learn anything new. Barring injuries, Lukaku will be Belgiums striker at the World Cup.
