Forget the goals for a minute. Lukaku's off the ball movement has been incredible. Players like that can give defenders depression.

Only Rashford and Lingard move off the ball as well as Lukaku. The only difference is that he has much better end products.

Imagine how many he would get with better service and people releasing the ball slightly quicker. Mkhi for example always takes extra touches on counters

Spot on, it's not just straight runs. He changes directions very intelligently.

Towards the end, Mkhi is in acres of space and Lukaku is waiting for a nice pass inside the box, he was completely alone. Mkhi, as usual, overran the ball.

Goal machine. This guy will easily score 35+ in all comps. Impressed with his overall contribution today. Laid it on a platter for Mikhi, who should have scored that. Beautiful header. Defenders were bouncing off of him today. Proper physical beast.

That was infuriating. Even at 3-0. I have no clue wtf was Mkhi doing there.

Anyone remember all the talk about his first touch before ha came here ?

Yeah, just something that was blown out of proportion when he starting getting linked with big teams. It was never that bad, and you could make the videos doing the round of his poor touches about any player. He's a very complete player.

I thought I was the only one that is furious with Mkhi at that time, Lukaku and Rash are completely free

People cared too much for a pointless thing imo. There are some criticism you can give to him during his Everton days that I can understand but talking first touch ? Some are expecting every striker to be Berbatov-esque.

40+

Ibra got 28 and he missed a bucket load.

Funny thing is I dont even think we are making as many chances for Lukaku as we were for Ibra last year.

Thought I was the only one who noticed that

We now have a more clinical striker and suddenly we stop creating the bucket load of chances, it really pisses me off

Yet to see this lazy, dumb big lump who can't control the ball we are supposed to have bought. All-round game has looked very good and a great Football IQ. 6 in 6 ain't too shabby when you consider he's finding his feet and most of our attacking players have been a bit wasteful in and around the area.

He's generally had a good fitness record so let's assume he starts 35 PL games, 10 in CL and say 5 in the cups I think he'll be scoring 35 or more.

Wasn't expecting his all round play to be this good. Brilliant player and just seems to always score.

He's Mourinho's new Drogba but better at scoring.

He's a beast. His goal tonight didn't even come from a particularly great cross. You can tell there's more to come as well.

This guy is a beast, gets the goals and does his job perfectly. Oddly, I feel he's not getting enough recognition for his goals. Maybe he's not flashy enough

A lot was made about how he doesnt score the winning goal or the first goal, etc.
But hes doing what we really lacked last season. Taking tight games (eg 1-0) and making it much more comfortable.
Wouldnt be surprised if last season we had drawn that 1-1 without him

He is the main difference from the attack last year, and he's made instant impact. Thought he deserved to be man of the match just behind Fellaini.

His mentality will win us the league

Said this before, anyone who's actually watched him play last season wont be surprised about his overall contribution for us.
I'm not surprised and he will hit 30+ goals this season.

40 +, Imo.

He's very quick. In the interview with him and Rashford that was posted a few days ago, he claims he's quicker than Rashford. Playful banter perhaps, but he really is so explosive when he has to run the channels.

I was really surprised last night especially at just how fast he is, plus he's not afraid to do the donkey work and chase down the loose balls.
He's better than I imagined he would be and I can only see him improving.

Seems like he was just waiting for the move up in clubs to step up his game. Then again maybe I just didn't watch him enough at Everton.

His off the ball movement and runs is something I didn't notice at Everton too often.

Very good performance, ran fele close for mom. Im happy with martial/rashford on the left but think we'd be lethel with a natural right footer on the right who can get half a yard and whip a decent cross in to rom,he's a lot better with his head than i thought he was..I say decent cross because i know valencia whips a load in but theyr mostly crap.

He is improving every time & the runs he is making off the ball is allowing others players in our team time on ball to dictate play which is the main difference in our play compared to last season other than his brilliant finishing

Dreadful chant hope it doesn't catch on. Ladbible nonsense.

What's the original song again?

Waterfall, Stone Roses.

Christ, that's horrid. Really hope they stop that.

Impressive performance. First game where the team wasn't playing well yet he was still dangerous and lifting the side which is excellent to see.
