there was never a doubt about him. as long as he's fit, he'll lead us to wins.

I can't believe how many of you thought he wasn't that good, before and after he signed. Glad he's had such a good debut.

I was gonna say I can't remember but apparently it was antohan.

Yups, thought he could have done much better with the "penalty".

Lad knows how to score though, which is what we needed from him.

Wasn't there a bloke here who said he won't score as many as last year as the service won't be as good as it was at Everton?

What a start. Fantastic player, great age. Only up from here. Need consistency and we're laughing.

He's a lot quicker across the ground than I expected. I mean, I knew his top speed was fantastic but his acceleration is quite impressive too.

Looks like the difference between our performances last year and this might just be this guy scoring.

On course for 76 goals this season. Incredible really.

What a top striker.

We missed this kind of strikers since RVP, a striker that attacks almost every ball in front of him. Zlatan was great but not that type of striker, more of a playmaker striker or something like that.

Lukaku will be a great success here.

Today's performance was precisely what we needed in our #9. And barely any of those donkey touches I heard so much about.

We've bought a goal machine, he's clumsy at times but his pace and threat around the penalty area is amazing.

Can only see him getting better as well.

Whether he will cope with the CL remains to be seen but no doubt a perfect signing for the Prem.

Henry pointing out at negative things in his eye, i wouldnt say its over the top but maybe its not that bad thing to point out those things, he will learn and he will improve.

I don't think Ibra would have scored his first goal. Electrifying pace.

On a weekend where Lacazette, Morata, Kane, Aguero and even Rooney scored it was important for him to get off the mark. Delighted for him and he's made a very good start to his United career.

The way he knocks the ball forward then chases it like a freight train on the counter must be terrifying for defenders.

Indeed. If I was Romelu I'd listen very carefully to what he says - he's a PL great. Hopefully he can evolve his game with us and improve to a world class standard.

Rival fans have twisted Lukakus transfer to suit their agenda, "75 mil for a player who has no first touch". Yes we've seen the compilation video, yes it could be improved, but he's been brought in to score goals, which he is pretty much proven.

A striker is brought in to score goals. Hence the reason I can't begrudge Zlatan last season when he went through his bad patch, he did all he could, others need to step up and be accounted for this season.

Henry dissecting every part is game. Feck off.

You're a fool if you don't think there's value in that level of dissection. That's how good players become great players. Lukaku shouldn't look back on his two goals and think he's the finished article, he should be looking at the 18 times he lost possession and the runs he never made but should've. That's how he reaches Henry's level.
