Chelsea have actually created a siege mentality after the Roman stuff. Our players would have fallen apart if we were sanctioned. There is a real difference in mentality of the players.Impressive from Chelsea given everything going on off the pitch.

This post is bullshite.Feels like you might be a little bit prejudice.. dare I say racist?
Not the best look tbh
Good post. This kind of confused geopolitical and historical whataboutery is simply sportswashing at it's most cynical in action.
The atrocities commited by the British Empire and by imperialist capital in general, from the genocide of aboriginal peoples of Australia and the Americas and the slaughter and enslavery of Africans, to the great 'Famines' in Ireland and India, none of these atrocitues should of course ever be forgotten and economic advantages gained through the butchery and pillage should be recognised and reparations paid.
Nonetheless the British empire does not own one of our clubs today to whitewash its' barbarism. Chelsea was owned by the butcher Abramovic and City are owned by the barbaric state of the UAE. Both are examples of blatant corrupt, oligarchic blood money being used to buy trophys for clubs in order to whitewash the image of their real brutal status.
Chelsea supporters and especially City supporters ( with their " don't give a feck" where the blood money comes from" attitude) have been clearly weaponised by the brutal oligarchs, having swallowed the sportswashing propaganda. Grown men, City fans who choose to defend their owners corrupt project, are in fact cheerleading the horrific human rights abuses and the slaughter of innocents in Yemen today.
There is a time and a place to criticise the British empires violence and theft of other people's resources. If the UK owned one of our clubs for sportswashing purposes then yes we would be right to slate British imperialist violence here. But the UK does not own Chelsea or City or any other club.
Now that Abramovich has rightly been kicked out of football, let's concentrate on getting rid of other sportswashing blood money owners too.
So let's stick to highlighting the City sportswashing project that is pumping in billions to hide the reality of their brutal regime. Please Google Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch for details.
The brutal regimes of the UAE and now Saudi Arabia at Newcastle too should never have been allowed ownershio of any of our football clubs. We football fans need to to do all we can to get the horrific human rights abusing regimes out of football.
This post is bullshite.
Being honest about colonial history is not racist.
Agreed. Using adversity as a tool for success. Probably because their team is full of characters. To go to Lille and Boro and win both shows true grit and professionalism, something you couldn’t associate with the bunch of charlatans at United at the moment.Chelsea have actually created a siege mentality after the Roman stuff. Our players would have fallen apart if we were sanctioned. There is a real difference in mentality of the players.

Gotta admit you had me on the first one hansi. You owe the man an apology, and your moral compass needs recalibration.

Russia doesn’t own a team either. Some Chelsea fans using British Empire crimes to justify Roman, might as well mention the Ottoman Empire, Imperial Japan, etc to give Roman a pass.
Thing is UK doesn't own a team.
You're completely missing the point. People who defend Abramovic by bringing up the fact that the British empire has a brutally violent history so therefore no one can criticise Abramovic, are setting up a straw man.Russia doesn’t own a team either.
Roman agreed, even before the sanctions, to sell the team for the good of the club.
But he has never been convicted of a crime that I’m aware of.
You are literally saying don’t tie the British owners in with the UK, because the UK doesn’t own a football team … then turning around and tying Roman to everything Putin does, and treating the team like they were owned by Russia.
Good post.
The fact Abramovich was allowed to own the club for nearly 2 decades without question from the UK government or regulators is a massive problem that needs sorting.
Today agree re: City's and Newcastle blood money too. It needs to be regulated against and reviewed.
It won't rhough because the UK is desperate for oil and our government is just as corrupt as the best of them.
This is nonesense, if Chelsea could develop in a manner like the Dippers it would've been done already. The SB site is too boxed in (with only one exit) to expand in this manner. Only way they can get more people in is to dig down and create new exits over the railway lines.

So, have they found a buyer? And how long can they still pay the players wages if Abramovich's assets remain frozen?
There's multiple buyers found. Just gotta pick one now. Rumours are by the end of the week we'll know who it is.
The chairman said we've got enough money to see out the season if the sanctions do stay in place.
Without question? He has been through multiple audits, investigations related to finances going to the team, cases in international court where he challenged people defaming and accusing him, and a full forensic accounting of Chelseas operations, especially our loan system, and it was ALL above board. He won every case. our club, and the best Academy in England, run very well.Good post.

It isn’t just that there’s nothing saying the money Ronan acquired to purchase the club wasn’t illegal… he has literally won court cases adjudicated by international bodies verifying just that.
Being Russian wasn’t illegal until 3 weeks ago, and he had already made preparations to sell the club by then.
Almost every single one of these attacking rants barely or never even mention Ukraine. They are based on the idea that Chelsea should have been destroyed a long time ago. People who disregard the law to form mobs based solely on oppo football wishes … just bad people.

Boehly for me, seems to have the background in running a good outfit, and not bleeding them dry, wants to invest, has enormous backing behind him, and says all the right things [which is partly PR, yes]Thanks for the quick answer, any favorites emerging? On another note, how do they even pay Abramovich if he can't do business?
Global investment firm Centricus is funding another British bid to buy Chelsea, saying it wants to "maintain and support existing management".
The Premier League club was put up for sale by Russian owner Roman Abramovich before he was sanctioned following his country's invasion of Ukraine.
This latest bid, backed by Centricus - which has £29bn in assets - features several Chelsea season-ticket holders.
The BBC
These are group of bankers and financiers who are also Chelsea ST holders, yes?
Centricus, a London-based asset management firm, has joined forces with Jonathan Lourie of Cheyne Capital and Talis Capital's Bob Finch, previously majority shareholder of FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark, to submit an offer prior to Friday night's deadline.
Lourie, Finch, Centricus' co-founder Nizar Al-Bassam and the firm's chief executive officer Garth Ritchie are all season-ticket holders at Stamford Bridge.
Read somewhere in the Guardian, the father isn't involved in the bidFather of the Rickett's family is flying to London to meet the Chelsea Supporter trust and the CPO, I assume that would indicate him and Ken Griffin have made the shortlist. Although weirdly, the father is not involved in the bid...
Yeah this is what Abramovich had planned to do before those plans were shelved by visa issues.
Everything coming out of these potential new owners just sounds like lip service at the moment, but I feel good about the Boehly group. Either way, the stadium issue is at the top of the agenda of every potential buyer and that is good to see. How it all pans out when the new owners get their feet under the table obviously remains to be seen.
This Centricus firm apparently oversees $38 billion worth of assets. They have less than 1,000 followers on LinkedIn and 2 Google reviews, one of which is a 1 star review from a person with a Wolves crest profile picture.

The whole thing seems very fishy with so many unknowns. God help up if this bunch of unknowns are chosen.
