Wow, the word woke made it to the football forum.
What a shite word
Don't know what's worse, the word or the people that use it.

Almost if those posts weren’t meant to advance the discussion, but are actually a way for people to absolve themselves of any wrongdoing. It’s easy to be right all the time if everyone else is either a hypocrite, or some woke idiot.Hypocrisy is when if you can’t do everything about a situation at exactly the same time, you’re woke if you do anything at all.
Smart
It is true, ain't it?Please stop spinning it this way, it's tiresome.
It's not. The poster seemed to be insinuating discriminaton, while those businesses you listed were simply pulling out of Russia. It's not like they are refusing to serve Russians in other countries, are they?It is true, ain't it?

The hypocrisy of the PL is astonishing. If you are going to sanction on Roman and Chelsea, you better behave the same way to the other clubs. They just let the prince of saudi arabia buy newcastle, and the saudis are bombing jemen each day, and has been said to be the most bloody war in recent times. I guess as long as its not white people the PL don´t care.
If memory serves me right, theres some kind of deadline sometime around march/april where if by the administration happens after that the point deduction will be for the following season.

The PL don’t care about people who aren’t white dying, clearly. I can’t bring any other conclusion from their behaviour.
Haa ok. My bad then. It's not. The poster seemed to be insinuating discriminaton, while those businesses you listed were simply pulling out of Russia. It's not like they are refusing to serve Russians in other countries, are they?
Its all double standards. If these people really gave a shit about what they sprllew the likes of American owners up and down the league would have ended up with sanctions after the shit their governments pulled in IRAQ with the myth of WMDS. This is all a game of scoring cheap geo political points. Nothing to do with morals let alone humanitarian care
The United States of America, Australia and British Government invaded Iraq and hundreds of thousands were killed including civilians women and children. There were no apologies when they can't find any WMDS. Instead, they proceed to steal hundreds of billions of oil from Iraq leaving the country and it's people in deep hardship. Much worse than what's happening in Ukraine now. I can't remember a single sanction from the western countries.
People who don't see this are being deliberately obtuse imo.
The difference in response to this Ukraine invasion and the invasions made by the so called civilised nations is jarring.
On the thread topic, what's the latest on what could happen to Chelsea?

So what is the worse case scenario in this for Chelsea
Huge mistake by the countries involved. I think we all agree on that, but should they set a rule for the next war? Isn't it good that this time every EU-country steps up and doesn't want a war?
Yes, it should've been done before, doesn't mean it shouldn't happen now.
Whataboutism isn't gonna fix anything

How about Yemen? Anyway, we should stop here. Wrong threads.
That's it then, anyone can do whatever they want. How about Yemen? Anyway, we should stop here. Wrong threads.

There is? How so?We could be relegated. That does not look like what is going to happen. There is already talk of how Chelsea can continue to sell gameday tickets.
If you put everyone on ignore that uses the term „woke“ and „snowflake“ you won’t be missing out on anything interesting.Don't know what's worse, the word or the people that use it.
In this article from The Guardian it sounds like the British government are taking over the sale? just a snippet, not the full article.
However the government is keen to target Abramovich rather than Chelsea, which it views as a “significant cultural asset”, and it will consider an application for a new licence that would permit a sale. Chris Philp, the digital and technology minister, said on Friday that Abramovich would be prevented from selling the club but potential buyers could approach the government with takeover proposals as long as the Russian would not benefit from the deal.
The viability of potential buyers is being discussed in political circles. Boehly and Wyss remain confident that their consortium, which includes an unnamed businessman, will be viewed favourably by the government and Premier League.
It is understood that Candy, a Tory donor, is also seen as a strong contender to buy Chelsea. The property developer is working on finding investors and his proposals include plans for an expensive redevelopment of Stamford Bridge, which could work in his favour. Candy, a Chelsea fan, is worth a reported £1.5bn.

Chelsea will tank in value soon enough, what buyer is going to want to buy high now?I don't see why anyone who wants nothing more out of this than a vanity thing would want to take over Chelsea at this point. You'd be replacing a popular owner who put billions of his own money in and you'd be doing it under inauspicious circumstances.
Of course, the new owner(s) might take the Glazer model. Leech the club dry without showing the kind of ambition for winning things that Roman has shown in his time in Chelsea.
It's people using the term "woke" that need to be dropped. It's fecking embarrassing. Finally some level headed common sense has prevailed. All these calls for companies to drop anyone or anything Russian is getting tiresome. This woke world that we live in is an embarrassment, so much hypocrisy. I would be fine with it if they were consistent with their torches and pitch forks.
Totally different. That situation was moronic. This situation involves appreciation for everything he has done, a slight sense of injustice to the club and the fact that 99% of rich owners are god damn awful parasites, like the Glazers. They’re worried we will get thrown off to the next shady businessman. Don’t entirely agree with the chanting but let’s drop this made up sportswashing woke shite term and look at reality.
If you put everyone on ignore that uses the term „woke“ and „snowflake“ you won’t be missing out on anything interesting.
Does my head in. People use the word "woke" as an excuse for saying stupid crap when they get a load of flak for it.It's people using the term "woke" that need to be dropped. It's fecking embarrassing.
Anyway, if you think Abramovich didn't buy the club with stolen money for self-protection and to enhance his image, then you do need to "wake" up.
Exactly. That's why I don't buy this "goodness of their hearts/morals"narrative they are pushingThe United States of America, Australia and British Government invaded Iraq and hundreds of thousands were killed including civilians women and children. No. But your replies are proof you aren't even playing at it.Are you playing daft?
That's the problem of being too eager to appear clever. You are still missing the point. How can a UK government go to war in Iraq, and then sanction business owners for them going to war in Iraq? What the feck are you smoking Chief?
May be this will change your mind.Agree to disagree. I've no problem with Chelsea whatsoever. Arsenal, Spurs and Westham are all sweaty cockney wankers. I actually have a lot of time for Chelsea, always have.
There is? How so?
Although it would not solve their financial problems, the club could be permitted to sell tickets for future matches by donating the proceeds as humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Nigel Huddleston, the sports minister, is understood to have told a meeting of the Football Supporters’ Association that the government would be open to the idea.
Same.Does my head in. People use the word "woke" as an excuse for saying stupid crap when they get a load of flak for it.
