Btw I am still at awe at this goal. Never gets old. Another set of commentators as well. This is the 4th set of them that I have posted.

Robin van Persie: "I think I'll keep it [the no.20 shirt]. I have the option to take no.9 but I don’t think I’ll do that. I'll stick with what is right and what feels good. Also, I don't want to be harsh to the fans who have no.20 on their kit. I don't want them to have to buy a new shirt. [No.20] has been a good number for me. I'll stick with it."

Think most would buy a new shirt anyway regardless.

Think I'd prefer him as #9. Nobody else seems suited to #9 whereas #20 doesn't hold much real significance as a shirt number.

What other player would say something like that, not changing numbers because of the fans who already bought the kit? Everything about him just oozes class.

Everything he says is so mature and respectful. Quite the turn around for a player who despite his talent was known as having mental issues when Arsenal signed him

Get this season's away jersey. It's sex.

Probably my favourite kit. The first kit I've ever put badges on and my name, love it.

On a side note, nice to see RVP saying it wouldn't be fair on fans who bought his name on the shirt, although I don't think anyone would have begrudged him getting the number 9.

Was left quite isolated. That being said, I don't know why we played him today.

Was great in the 1st then he faded as we lost control of the ball in midfield, his movement is so good. We don't get the ball into his feet anywhere near enough nor get anything in behind for him.

He's played poorly himself some games. He missed sitters and couldn't score for love nor money at times and still Hernandez couldn't get a game. Also in his poorer games he's on the periphery and doesn't get involved much. I'm not even criticising him much because he's undoubtedly been our second best player this season after Carrick but he went through a ten game goal drought and yet Hernandez whos been prolific this season or Rooney who was our in form striker at the time weren't given a chance up front. RvP looked jaded and well in need of a rest on occasions and rotation might actually have done him good. Today for example I don't see why his place in the team was imperative. All he gave us was good movement which Hernandez has in abundance. Yes he should be starting the majority of games I just don't see why he's exempt from rest/rotation like everyone else.

This. He and Valencia are two players who just continue to play even if they're in poor form. RvP didn't have a great game last week or today and yet I'm sure he'll start next week. I'd really like to see Hernandez and Rooney play up front next game so hopefully he gets rotated for that match.

He had a very good game, especially in first half. Saying that, I don't see why are we playing him.

Van Persie's on 29 goals in all comps, and that 30 goal mark is a big one for strikers. Would be very surprised if Van Persie's happy to finish one short of that mark. Think he'll start against Swansea, as part of a strong team, to get that all-important goal.

#9 is set for Bale I reckon :)

Would have liked to see RvP in that shirt though if we don't sign someone worthy of it, though Welbeck is probably most likely to be promoted if we don't sign an attacking player of note.

Now it makes sense why a phone call from SAF to Wenger persuaded Wenger to let RVP join United. He must have told him he was retiring and wanted one last chance to work with RVP/win the title back from City. Wenger has stated that the full details of that phonecall will only be known to the public at a later time, obviously to do with his planned retirement.

Why the feck would Wenger care if SAF went out with a title win or not.

Odd post.

Watch out Poirot, there's a new kid in town.

Well, his name is Savais... which, if you added an 'L'... and changed the 'i' to an 'a'... is... 'Savalas'... And a certain Telly Savalas played a detective called Kojak!

Think we might be on to something here lads.
